manchwrestlingdad reacted to JustAnotherFan in New Season, same old story
I just looked. There are hardly any scores. How are we to build fans and excitement if no one can see what’s happening. It’s like baseball with no box score. Now I’m the first to say I don’t have to enter anything. Is it really that hard? Love to hear from some coaches or mangers that do this stuff.

manchwrestlingdad reacted to base in New Season, same old story
I believe Y2 said coaches (or a team manager) can simply take a cell phone photo of the scorebook and upload the picture. Coaches need to start encouraging each other to do this for the good of the sport

I agree as sad as it is, I feel like a lot of team are avoiding “showing their hand”. Who cares post your dual and your lineup…

manchwrestlingdad reacted to Hornet Coach in Hair Rules
I know my coach had to cut my mullet back in the day and I wasn't too happy about it. Needless to say, my coach wasn't a barber and wasn't worried, at all, what it looked like, as long as the refs gave the thumbs up. Man, that thing was a work of art and was ruined. 😀 That's all, carry on with the actual productive discussion.

manchwrestlingdad reacted to maligned in Team Rankings: Preseason 1A Top Ten
It will be decided in December after lineups are more clear. Your placement at Team State in one year is not a ticket to the event the next year, unfortunately. 1A is very competitive at the top now. Having 5 seniors and 2 forfeits in your sectional lineup is very hard to make up for in the following season and the qualification scoring reflects that--favoring full lineups and favoring teams with most guys coming back. You had the second highest qualification score that didn't get in yet and the kids you did bring back are solid, so you'll be clearly considered and analyzed thoroughly those first few weeks of the season to see where you are.

manchwrestlingdad reacted to ReformedPoster in Carroll VS Parris
Mason was 206-1 in HS, and 4 of his wins at state were not by pin, so I'm going to guess that he did not have 200+ pins. Either way, mason is definitely one of the best ever in the state (maybe the best ever). But to completely dismiss Carroll is kind of ridiculous. The kid just crushed everybody at the Super 32. He's ranked #1 in the country for a reason. This would be a helluva match up.

manchwrestlingdad reacted to Y2CJ41 in Carroll VS Parris
In 2017 he won FloNationals defeating Brian Kennerly of Pennsylvania who was ranked #10 by Flo at that time.
In 2018 he won FloNationals defeating Michael Wolfgram of Pennsylvania who was unranked by Flo at that time.
Both matches were pins, but neither were in 30 seconds or close to that.

manchwrestlingdad reacted to ReformedPoster in Carroll VS Parris
It's not the end of the discussion. Christian Carroll could absolutely beat Mason Parris. Parris may have more state titles, but Carroll has won many tournaments that Parris did not. He is also ranked #1 in the country prior to his jr year, which is something that Parris can't claim. I think it is likely that Carroll wins 220 last season if he had been eligible. As an athlete, Parris may have the edge. At this same point of their careers (both entering Jr year in HS), I think it is likely that Carroll is the better wrestler.

Really don't like calling out schools, but this kid is getting screwed on this deal. Luckily he is such a stud that I believe he will get the last laugh.

Technically he won't be able to compete until 2022 per the IHSAA ruling of sitting out a year from his transfer.

USA is the only or one of few countries that still have folk style. I don’t want it to die here as well.
