Other than Gwiz, and maybe Stieber, I'm not sure why. Dennis comes back after 4-5 years out of nowhere, gets better every time we see him, trains in the same room as Ramos along with two of the best lightweights in US history. Stieber gets bigger and better every time we see him and I just like him. Burroughs, yeah. Dake, again, yeah. I'm not convinced 9th time's a charm for Taylor. Varner, defending Olympic champ, will be pulling out all the stops one last time before handing it over to Snyder for good. Gwiz, i just like him and Dlagnev's been hurt. Nothing insane about any of that.

I think they did at the open in Deecember. More of the same, if I'm not mistaken.

  5. I don't think there are too many open tournaments during the scholastic season.
  6. You're right. I guess my remarks came off a bit brash. When you put it that way, yeah, they're doing just fine. My apologies.
  7. I hate seeing the Reitz program in the dumps like it's been the last few years. I understand how difficult it can be to maintain a consistently productive program, but Reitz has fallen much harder than I would've expected. Is their club program still operating? Their SIW club was fantastic when I was growing up, loaded with young talent, producing so many good wrestlers in the last 10-12 years. When the last wave of them went through(Moody, Vanhook, Kuhn boys, Johns boys, etc.), I just assumed their would be another group step in behind them. What gives?
  8. How'd the match go? Clean takedown? Did he win a scramble?
  9. Maroulis is one of my favorite wrestlers in the world to watch. Period. She's just slick as can be. Well deserved!!
  10. 125: Angel Escobedo 133: Reece Humphrey 141: Ales Tsirtsis 149: Jason Tsirtsis 157: Matt Coughlin 165: Andrew Howe 174: Blake Maurer 184: ? 197: ? HWT: Adam Chalfant
  11. Speaking of results, does anyone have any details about the Konrath/Renteria match? I was looking forward to that one and would like to know how it played out.
  12. D1 college programs are extraordinarily selective in who gets into their rooms and even more selective in who gets to wrestle for them.
  13. Funniest back and forth I've ever seen. Thanks, guys.
  14. Unlikely, but I wouldn't really be surprised.
  15. Fair enough and I completely understand this. I was just curious as to whether or not the narrative has ever gone one direction or the other when story telling with people that wrestled in classed states.
  16. Is there any data from other states that points to an increase in participation after going to a classed system? Or does anybody with an unbiased opinion have any credible, first-hand experiences to draw from? I'd just like to actually see something of substance. This thread is nothing but a bunch of hypothetical assumptions and "if this, then that" rhetoric to reinforce everyone's respective opinions, which both sides of the argument are guilty of (myself included).
  17. That's pretty bold! I disagree, but would love to see it happen that way.
