I returned to Hobart high school to enjoy some Regional #1 wrestling,  and, more important,  check out the hot dogs.  First things first, on my first trip to Hobart, I do believe they did slip me a polish sausage,  which is funny, because that's the same line my ex girlfriend gave me when I caught her cheating.  Anyway, I did enjoy this hot dog better, but, there was one thing.  Both dogs I got were Luke warm at best, so that did impact the score.  The regional hot dogs get 5.75 slices of pizza outta 8.  Now, I did have a guest reviewer, my kid Chris Jr. and this is how that interaction went.
CJ "those hot dogs were good" he stares back into his phone
Me " they were? Why?"
Cj - annoyed sigh
Me " tell me"
Cj- annoyed grumble
Me "how many slices of pizza?"
Cj "7, I guess" back to phone.

Really? No mention for Riley/Ryan Rasler from Prairie Heights?

I wonder if there's a difference this year with some of the new weights, or if they have the same formulas and just changed the weight numbers. Cause the Jay county 2 seed was consistently drawing Carroll for ticket round, which is why we knew once our guy got second at regional last year he was getting Veazy ticket round. So is that seeding the same for 175 this year, or is it actually going to be random?

Neither IU or Purdue will ever challenge for a team title under the current structure. The haves and have nots gap is as wide as it's ever been and is not closing any time soon. Penn State has guys sitting on the bench for multiple years that would be immediate AA contenders at an Indiana school. It's insane how a few schools in the country stockpile so much talent. IU or Purdue will never get close to that.

My point wasn't that Jay County 2's get bad draws. My point was the draws are rarely random cause of the one example, and I was curious if the formula stays the same for 175 or if they change it up with new weights. 

Like I said, the 182 draw has been the same 7 out of the past 8 years in Fort Wayne.

This is with the new numbers for the 2024-25, 2025-26 cycle. Numerous teams moved up and down between 1A and 2A. Cascade is so far up into 2A and Rensselaer so far down into 1A that neither is even really a cut line team.

Are their enrollments flipped? Cause a cascade is in the 2A enrollment and Rensselaer in 1A enrollment 

Like I said, the 182 draw has been the same 7 out of the past 8 years in Fort Wayne. 

Not sure I’ve seen anyone pick sprunger to advance at 120 even though he has a win over Keith… Excited for a good day of wrestling ! 

At this point, small schools aren't even playing the same sport as the big schools. South Adams has to balance putting the work in for wrestling while having nearly every single member of our roster playing three sports, all while wrestling in the cafeteria. Next year we might not have a heavy weight because there's only 3-4 kids in the entire school that I could identify as even being the right weight, not even getting to those kids already playing basketball, or not wanting to wrestle. Brownsburg has a million dollar facility filled with year round wrestlers and all the resources they need, in an area surrounded by other talented big school wrestling programs and big city clubs and about 1000 kids to recruit in the school. But sure, we can just outwork them. 
 
I would love to see South Adams have a state champ at some point in my life, but that is going to be highly unlikely with the current state of wrestling in Indiana. Last year, the state finals looked like a Crown Point-Brownsburg-Center Grove dual meet, and that isn't changing any time soon. Last year the 1A wrestler of the year topped out at 5th place, couldn't even get one 1A wrestler in the semis.
