  1. 26 is impressive! I count 18 Castle Regional State qualifiers: MD 6 Castle 3 Mt Vernon 3 Reitz 2 Central 1 Tecumseh 1 Gibson Southern 1 N. Posey 1
  2. I think Garrett Walton wrestled 106 (and I don't think he was a small 106 either) until the very end of the year when Schaefer dropped for good, which explains his regular season end 17th State ranking.
  3. Cummings will not major the field. Too much at stake to take too many chances. I see more decisions than majors in his future.
  4. This is the third day in a row that Evansville area schools have been out of school. Monday was a holiday but snow was already on the ground and at least the Warrick County Schools were not allowed to practice. On top of that no school yesterday and today. What effect if any does that have on this weekend?
  5. I think the point being made is that 80% is the passing score and with an open book exam that is not good.
  6. Without Joe's loss to James, I think the Joe Lee vs. Brandon James semi-finals match would be talked about exactly like Nick and Micic from 2014. I will just say I am sure Joe Lee is glad he has already faced Brandon James and has the video to study, a chance is brother did not get last year. Is there another guy in the State James would rather not wrestle again after defeating already? I see a CLOSE match between these two.
  7. A large (~32 oz) Diet Coke at the Ford Center was $4.75.
  8. Flo Nationals have a 5lb. allowance, so you are correct Thor.
  9. Should be the same for all since they are all IHSAA events. Evansville was $10 for all day or $7 for finals only.
  10. Team sports are single elimination, though. You lose you're out.
  11. More Maurer Coughlin students in SS: Chance Williams, Noah Huelsing, Isaiah Kemper, Alex Johnson.
  12. Maurer Coughlin has also had the following as pupils: Nolan Weidner Austin Ramsey Patrick Schnell Jacob Farmer
  13. So is it only giving an officer of the law a headlock that is illegal or is doing a striptease act at a bar also illegal? I need to know if I need to "tone it down" at The Gerst Haus tonight!
  14. 5 of the top 12 106's are in the Evansville SS. 6 of the top 15 106's are in the Merrillville SS. C'est la vie
  15. Bummer hat Cummings and Triana are on the same side of the 106 bracket. They seem to have the two best resumes this year in that weight class.
  16. Per IHSAA website the wrestling starts at 9am. Surely us fans can get in The Ford Center before wrestling starts! Question: how long are the breaks between rounds, and does The Ford Center ever get cleared (I noticed that tickets for finals only are $7 and $10 for all sessions)?
  17. The youngest of all of the 106 brackets. Only 5 upper classmen.
  18. I think B. Lee will beat A. Bethel. Tough draw. I think Bethel would have had a much better shot at the Bloomington or Jeffersonville Regional Champs. Forecast for Sat. is windy and cold (high of 30). Get there early to avoid the big line or bring a big coat!
  19. I'll still take Luigs and raise you his quality of schedule, quality of wins, quality of practice room, and the fact that he has avenged 2 of his 3 losses. Besides, it's no fun prognosticating based solely on head-to-head results!
  20. Luigs will make it to State. He has a convincing win over Skaggs, who handled Fox at least twice this year. How about the round 1 match-up between Harris (State #11) v. Ramsey (State #9)? Is there a better round of 16 match than this one at any Semi-State ?
