No, portage wanted to go after some nationally ranked teams that weekend. They knew what they were doing in sending the jv. I believe it was conference duals, so they were gonna send a team.
When I was wrestling I was hit with stalling in middle of running a half. My brother when he was a freshman or sophomore was hit with stalling because he was running legs working for the turn but wasnt strong enough get the turn, but he kept throwing his legs in and trying because that was his offense. The ref atleast told him ahead of time that if he didnt get the turn he needed to stop throwing in the legs or hed get hit with it.
It is yorktown that got their eligibility taken away. If the coach or athletic department were ok with the transfers they just needed to sign the waivers, as mentioned before. Yorktown didnt sign their papers to transfer, thus forcing the kids to try to fight it, and lose. I dont think you need to know the story behind it if you understand how the transfer rule works.
I won't wrestle greco because I graduated and am done competing in wrestling. I won't coach greco because the only training I got in greco was like a practice at michiana wrestling academy where fabio basically gave me the cliffsnotes on it, making me not the best option to coach it
It was a great match, but honestly I was not a fan of the end... lol, but I knew Malone would be game to push Jourdan. This sophomore will be impressive the next two years.
After the Al smith I felt Molloy could at least give red a little bit of match, he was why I didn't see red tech or pinning everyone. If Molloy improves even close to how much he did from last year to this year he could be scary.
Either way cash would have been leading after the nearfall. If Lee's pin over james isn't a "catch" when James leg just got caught in an awkward position, Cashs pin wasn't close to a "catch"
This predicting people will tech/pin everyone is ridiculous. Is it possible? Yeah, but doesn't mean that should be what we expect. I also don't know why wrestling4ever is bringing up lee.
I expected Laughlin to win but not like he did. I don't know what was up at regionals, seeing as he got majored by cotton who he has beat in multiple times, but I saw the Laughlin I expected to see.
At 132, I like Laughlin as long as he comes out how he's capable. He had a rough regional but he's been pretty much lights out. The only reason he's ranked 6th in the semistate and not first is two loses from Olsen of SBA (whose only losses came at the Al smith). I've seen Laughlin a lot and if he wrestles like he has been before regionals, he's my pick. This could be a lot like last year at 132, where the 32 lbers from rochester spent the year beating on each other and come out to make a statement at ss.
Evans vs beam could be good too depending on which Evans comes out at 138. If he wrestles like he did the first match of NIC I don't see him being in the finals, but if he wrestles like he did at Al smith it should be a solid match.
I know that it is pretty much conference minus Elkhart Central, but any matches you are looking forward to? Matches that went one way but you think will go different? I'm looking forward to a 106 semifinal, Zahl vs Kazmierczak. They haven't wrestled yet and Zahl isn't well known but it could be a good match. At 126 I think it will be Selis vs Blasko, but mishawaka as a whole wrestled solid at conference from what I saw so Beaver could easily make it thru Blasko again. 132 possible Olsen vs Laughlin #4. I'm gonna stick with Olsen in this one. I think Cotton will take 3rd but wouldn't be suprised if Rinser beats him again.
