    Terre Haute would benefit if ISU would offer wrestling. To comply with Title 9 maybe they could offer a womens team with the olympic weights. There are some great athletes in the Terre Haute area and it could be a goldmine if they would offer middle school wrestling. The Montgomery kid was a product of getting started in thier club, that is a great argument for them to get it going. I wonder how many of their state qualifers/place winners started wrestling before they entered high school. They really handicap their kids by not having offical middle school teams.

    When you are in the parking lot having one of those "barley pops" just remember to be careful there is a beverage there man. Sims is a tough kid. Welch just a little better wrestler. Both should be successful in life. Best of luck.

    You not wrong Walter, you just a butthead.... I think the same thing happened in the finals match with a kid from Hobart. Same result no points awarded. Hobart fans were sure it was "loss of control" but once again, I think the official made the right call... if you are close to a reversal you are close to a reversal. If you get an escape, you get an escape.... it always sucks for those officials, half the fans will agree the others will not!!! It must be exhausting!!

    First of all thank the wreslting gods that Boomsma and Boston are on opposite sides of the bracket. Second of all... I can't wait for this match up. I give the edge to Boomsma if he takes the attitude that he is not going to let a freshman come in and beat him. But then again Boston could take the attitude that he has something to prove for a youngster... a very complicated case, lots of ins and outs and what have yous.... I just hope they both show up with the mindset to win rather than to NOT lose and leave it all on the mat.... I gotta go find a cash machine!!

    standing outside the pe/basketball coaches office in 7th grade looking for my name on the list... I thought it was a mistake that it wasn't on there and then he told me wrestling was starting the next week and I should give it a try. Man what a lucky break for the Dude.

    Here is what you can beleive... the kid is in, he is seeded, he will improve Yorktowns chance to advance to team state. Thank you Ytown mom, if it is true that you and your son still support the team and want them to succeed. Nice work, nice work!!! Lets hope the first round of team regionals starts at 145, so he can win it for them in the last match.

    GO YORKTOWN!! I hope they are behind by two heading into the 140 pound match at team state and this kid wins... and they win. Great coaches develop talent, and these coaches have developed talent in their area for years, some of them have went to other schools and won and made those coaches look good, when in reality it was the work that the wrestlers did at the Yorktown club that resulted in them winning state championships. Say what you want, coaches have benefitted from the hard work and dedication that Y0rktown coaches have done. So big deal, the kid is there, he is wrestling get over it and worry about the things you can actually control, like dedicating yourself to developing kids year round.
