  1. I'm not bashing anyone. In fact I've given him praise. Saying he is prolly the best out of all three. And last year I wanted Red to bump to wrestle Lee. I think it would be awesome if they ended up in the same weight this year. IN wrestling could use the hype on a national level of having two of the best in the country battling it out at multiple weights for state titles. If you think that's bad then you are as dumb as I thought. I think it would be cool if Kobe did try to do that to Streck. Gelen bumped to try and get the best competition and beat Streck. Just FYI Y2 sometimes team state titles are decided but couple points. Could have to beat Kobe to win team state and keep Penn out.

I'm not the dumb one. If Rypel would have defeated Woods in the finals Penn would have still won the team state title by two points.  Woods was also certified for 195lbs last year, so he could have made the drop to take on Rypel.

  2. I never said he should go on a vision quest. I think for him to cement himself as maybe one of the best ever big men to wrestle he should. And he should want to beat those two guys. I simply said he doesn't come off as being the type of guy who it would bother that ppl might not think he can beat MP or KW. Did you ever see the match couple years ago when David Taylor wrestled Palmer? I can't remember which bumped up. But both of those guys wanted to be the best and wanted to make it known they were.

He's shown he's one of the best. He's a 3 time placer at 160 and above, you can probably count those guys on one hand. He's already proven his worth as a top wrestler with his national and state accolades.  Are you going to tell Kobe Woods to bump up to heavyweight at the Al Smith to wrestle Streck too? If not, according to you he's just another two-time champ. Why aren't you bashing Chad Red too for not bumping up against Nick Lee last year or the year before against Micic?

  3. Yeah why try to challenge yourself? Why try to cement yourself as an all time great? Why get wins over nationally ranked opponents? I think wrestling wise Rypel is one of the best big guys IN has ever seen. But there have been plenty of 2 time state champs. I would love to see him beat a defending state champion who is ranked in the country. And a young stud who by the time he is a senior could very well be top 10. Hope you don't coach your athletes that way Y2J. You'd suck as a coach if so.

He's placed at the Super 32, NHSCA Junior Nationals, USAW Junior Nationals, FloNationals, amongst other national level events. He doesn't avoid competition plain and simple.  He's ranked like 6th in the nation and you're trying to say he should go on a "vision quest." That is absolutely laughable when he's seen the best in the nation all spring, summer, and fall. Why don't those guys cut weight to wrestle him if you are so enamored with Woods and Parris wrestling him?

  4. You basically have three areas to look at when determining this

    Undefeated High School

    # of State Titles

    National Accolades

Jason Tsirtsis has the max on all of these except the undefeated high school resume. He lost to a very tough Cashe Quiroga, but has a head scratching loss Anthony Napules. His national accolades are top notch which include his whole senior year at #1 along with a Fargo title. He was a two-time Super 32 runner-up however.

Angel Escobedo has a lot of these requirements also. He only had one loss to an out of state opponent. However he never won a Fargo title.

Reece Humphrey has only(compared to the others) three state titles. He has a Fargo title, but that was in Greco.

Alex Tsirtsis has two of the three like the others, but didn't have the consensus #1 ranking and never won a Fargo title.

The biggest one to compare is Lance Ellis as he has two of the three also. He was EXTREMELY dominant during his career. However his national accolades aren't that many due to lack of events as there are today. In watching his highlights on YouTube, he looked ahead of his time with his technique and skill.

Red has all three and no one has won the events he has with the Super 32 and Fargo AND FloNationals. Barring any hiccups he will have been ranked #1 for basically two years. That is pretty unheard of for an Indiana wrestler due to our in season travel rules.

  5. Here is a summary

Northwest Indiana aka da region and Indianapolis area will have a higher average than the rest of the state. The rest of the state will hover around the 4 mark.

The NWCA wants to stress more single duals, but fail to tell you that you bring in fans for GOOD duals. They also fail to factor in that once you get out of the heavily populated areas that travel time/distance will play a part.
