Wrestlingfan937
How are these brackets built? Is it just someone randomly drawing out of a hat or is it computer generated? What is the formula to building the brackets? Can they reuse last years brackets? Or is it always different?
aoberlin
The way it usually works as a coach and a wrestler. If there is a draw you are dreading the worst you will probably get it. Silence Dogood
There are 4 regionals in a Semi-State - call them A, B, C, and D. There are a number of formulas that could apply to each bracket, but at the end of the day each one is matching up a first place from one regional (A) against a 4th placer from another regional (D) and a 2nd placer from another regional (B) against 3rd placer from another regional (C) in the first round... Also, the first placer from each regional is on the same side of the bracket as the 4th placer from their same regional. And the 2nd and 3rd placers from the same regional are on the same side of the bracket as each other (opposite of the 1st and 4th place from that regional). buttler73
Joe shared this on a different thread-Hopefully this answers some questions posed here. My spreadsheet doesn't have 2020 and 2021 yet. Also 2015-2019 all include state and semi-state. The other years only semi-state.
