Format: 16 team bracket with a pool format that guarantees everyone 5 dual meets while assuring that no two teams will meet twice. The NF/IHSAA team tiebreaker will be used in case of any ties, to determine advancement along the tourney bracket. We will wrestle on 8 mats ( 4 on the gym floor, 2 upstairs & 2 in our wrestling room ). Teams may weigh in as many wrestlers as they wish and shuffle their lineups accordingly. We will draw the weight class order prior to Round #1 and each succeeding round will then begin at the next weight (per NFHS guidelines). Field: Calumet Franklin Lowell Southmont Cathedral Hanover Central Mishawaka South Bend Riley Crown Point Lake Station Edison Munster Valparaiso Floyd Central Lawrence North Portage Westfield Seeds: Care will be taken to avoid any Conference, Sectional, or Regional matchups in the 1st round of wrestling, if at all possible. Times: All times are Central Standard Time (1 hour behind: Indianapolis; Louisville; South Bend; & Ft. Wayne). Team busses may drop off participants at the southeast corner of the fieldhouse, (Entrance “E”) near the wrestling room, but should park with all other vehicles on the northwest side of the building. Thank you in advance for honoring this request. Doors open: 7:30 AM Pick up information packet & passes at check in. Weigh In: 8:00-9:00 AM In the locker room area, by team, on multiple scales. Wrestling: 9:30 AM First round of preliminary matches. Rounds*: 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Please keep team bags with your group, lockers will not be provided. Each team will supply a scorekeeper for their matches with the home book being official. Home is determined by the school name closest to “A” in the alphabet. Please copy your scorebook and fill out the match scorecard from your scorer’s table, after each round, and leave in our athletic office. We will break for lunch at the conclusion of the 11:30 AM session. *If an entire round of wrestling ends early we will start the next round as soon as minimum rest requirements are met. These times are merely guidelines. We will try to get teams on the road home ASAP. Entry: Entry fee is $250.00. Please remit to CHS as soon as possible, if you have not done so already, with signed contracts. Tickets: $10.00 for an all day adult pass / $5.00 after 3:00 PM. (Students in grades 6-12: $5.00 / $3.00 after 3:00 PM). Family Pass (2 Adults + 2 Students) - $25.00 ($15.00 after 3:00 PM). Kids in 5th Grade & under admitted FREE, with a paid adult. Awards: A custom trophy will be awarded to the Championship team. Custom T-Shirts will be on sale, as well as a variety of concessions. COOLERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN WRESTLING AREAS. SPACE IS AVAILABLE IN CAFETERIA. Officials: $275 + T-Shirt + Hospitality (Ten officials) All will work four duals and have a round off. Blind draw for match assignments just prior to Round 1.
