macdaddy
Now that the IHSAA season is over, I was just wandering " what national tournaments everyone is going to. And Coaches; "Which National tournaments do you feel is most important?" NHSCA @ Va. Beach? Brute Scholastic Duals @ York, Pa? FILA Cadets @ Akron, OH? USA Folkstyle Nationals @ Cedar Falls, IA? USA Freestyle & Greco Nationals? Fargo? I probably missed some, but i am just thinking. I know we are considering Va. Beach, York, FILA's & Fargo. I wanna know wheat everyone's opinion is. Y2CJ41
I'm taking a group of kids to FILA Cadets. Its a short drive for some great competition. I think more Indiana kids should go to this tournament as it is very close to home and there is some stellar competition there. USAW Folkstyle Nationals and NHSCA nationals both have the talent split between them, so they are about equal.
2016GrecoGold
We're going to FILA's this year. But I'll only be able to stay for Greco, since our Greco state tournament is on the same weekend.
coacha_teambraves
I am a big fan of the NHSCA National Championships. I completely enjoyed the experience and the kids did as well. Coach A

macdaddy
There were quite a few at Va. Beach last year. They were there for the Juniors and Seniors mostly (obvious reasons).
Y2CJ41
There will be lots of college coaches at FILA Cadets also, as the University Nationals is being held in the same fieldhouse. Teams like Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Ohio State and more were in Akron last year.
CoachM
Where is the NHSCA qualifier at this year? I've had several kids go in the past and they all really enjoyed the tournament. One even got a scholarship offer on the spot. So it is attended by coaches, mostly DII and DIII.

Y2CJ41
I believe you could get an "exhibition" match at a local tournament, but there are generally very few if any university or senior guys at the local tournaments.
RankingsGuy
I'd consider the Junior Duals also. USAW Folkstyle I don't think has really caught on with college coaches, but I know that FILA Cadet's, NHSCA, and obviously Fargo are big.

Logan Stieber wrestled at the Junior FILAs and won last year when he was 17. He beat Tyler Clark of ISU (who beat Angel), Zach Sanders of Minny, and another DI college wrestler. allyourbase
Wow, seems I have been gone to long, so many "national championships" to win. Winning the Cadet and/or Junior Nationals used to be the pinnacle of the sport. We did have the High School Nationals in PA, The only tournament with Folk rules. Good luck to all.
