maligned
Barroquillo, Pawlak, and Grayson are in the semi-finals for Indiana Tech. Crume wins to earn all-american status as well. Tech is in 3rd place in the team race with those 4 guys alive. Sinkovics and Adams both earn all-american status. Adams was somehow an 8-seed with a 21-1 record. He loses 3-2 to the #1 seed in the quarterfinals but wrestles back into the top 8 and can improve on that today.
maligned
Barroquillo ends up 4th, Crume and Sinkovics 7th. Pawlak, Grayson, and Chico will wrestle for 1st and 3rd and 5th, respectively. Tech is still in 3rd as a team.
maligned
Pawlak wins a national title for Indiana Tech and the team finished 3rd. Grayson ends up 3rd for Tech as well. Chico Adams ends up 5th, losing 3-2 to the 3rd and 4th place finishers, one of whom was the national champ last year. He'll be one of the favorites next year for sure. maligned
In D3, Wabash struggles a bit after the R16. Broukal and Lefever into the semi's and Bova is also an All-American. The other 3 all lost in the all-american round. Team is in 5th place headed into day 2. Binion was also eliminated. In D2, Crume is into the semi's and Kieffer is also an All-American for Indianapolis. Faulkenburg and DeLong fell short. Indy is in 14th as a team. Y2CJ41
Devin Broukal wins in spectacular fashion! He was down 4-1 in the second period and got a reversal and nearfall to take the lead 5-4. In the third he got another two nearfall, gave up an escape, but added a riding time point to capture the national championship! Nick Crume lost a close one 4-3 on a riding time point. Y2CJ41
Lefever brings back three other awards, Most Dominant for the second straight year, Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament, and Academic All American. Not too shabby for a kid who was 11-18 as a freshman in high school.
