  1. Has Mason Miranda's injury points been added to Avons points? He was a returning state qualifier. His season was ended prior to sectionals.
  2. Been a fan of B Lee for a long while. He is not only a great wrestler but a very respectful kid. He has been a machine all season. I would be absolutely shocked if he didn't make it to the bank. I really do not make predictions on this board, but I do predict that he makes it through. Good luck to my Avon guys. Team has been hit hard with injuries this season, but we keep grinding and building the beast. Good luck to all contenders academy wrestlers, as several are still going strong!
  3. Ok.... I'm back with the rest. Had to take my former MS state champ to physical therapy so he may be able to letter next year. (Crappy way to a start high school career!!!). 7. Reams from Plainfield draws Damler from Brownsburg to make it through. Tough draw for him. Reams is a good wrestler.
  8. Brownsburg are the clear favorites. With this said, I predict that Avon will have 11 in the finals and give them a good run. Good luck to all. Look forward to having a dog in the fight next year!
  9. Not sure about qualifiers. Brownsburg and Avon both with 6 one seeds and 3 two seeds. Danville with the other 2 one seeds. Should be a tight team race (if seeds hold)! These numbers are subject to change.
  10. I didn't go this year, but went the first two years. The people that put this on are the same people that put on elementary dual state. It should be noted that Franklin Community folks have a huge hand in running all ISWA state tournaments. We are lucky to have people like the Vanhorns, Chris Lynch, Mark Stevenson, and others. These folks give more time than you could ever imagine to make sure our wrestlers have great opportunities to wrestle, and for us to enjoy watching it.
  11. That may be a good bet when it comes to Clark. Pretty sure that he has a broken bone.
  12. Hoosier crossroads has 3 of the 12 teams that competed at 3a team state including the 1st and 7th place teams. With Brownsburg, Avon, Hamilton Southeastern, Fishers, Zionsville, Westfield and Noblesville.
  13. Kinda disappointed to see that separation criteria wasn't added. Hope that we don't see a match up like we saw with Garcia and Alec Viduya to start the day like last year. It was a long day after that for Alec. Same with Drake Campbell. I think that Alec had to wrestle 11 times last year to get his true second. Is that safe and can things be done to prevent this. Three years ago my son was coming off a great Novice year. He was a sixth grader and got the one seed at 110. He was NOT the one seed in my book (not even close). Now.... two years later he was good enough to be the one seed, but not as a sixth grader. He did not place as a sixth grader (missed it by one round). He was not the one seed as a returning finalist his 8th grade year, but won it all. Seeding tournaments using track profiles is fine for local tourneys. But.. it should not be done this way for state or national events. Profiles are too easy to manipulate and kids are coming off good or bad years at an older or younger age group. Maybe this could be the seeding criteria: 1. Returning middle school state champ 2. Returning middle school state placer 3. ISWA folkstyle schoolboy state champ 4. ISWA folkstyle schoolboy top 4 placer 5. ISWA folkstyle novice state champ 6. ISWA folkstyle novice top 4 placer
  14. Solid picks Hector. Good luck to your pick at 85! I will be rooting for him. Others in the mix (not sure on weights): 75- Cameron Allen or Ben Dalton (if they go 75) 80- Hayden Watson 85- Jr. Roberson 90- Tyler Conley, Noah Mis, Drake Campbell 95- Hollis, Kysen Montgomery 102- Owen Sego 117/125- Deven Williams and Jaden Reynolds 140/150- Noah Beller, Tyler Turley, and Caden Freidt
  15. Don't know either...... BUT let's hear some predictions!!!!!
  16. I agree. Contact your local school and get involved with a club within your community. A list of clubs can be found at www.iswa.com
  17. That is amazing. Due to the fact that the draw is random, it is really unlikely to happen again. With this said, I would be sure to buy a powerball ticket!!!
  18. Thank you to the ISWA!!! The kids had a blast. A great Hendricks County battle to end the day. Congrats to the Bulldogs. Even though there is a lot of back and forth on this board between Avon and Brownsburg, it should be known that our kids and our families are all friends. Most of the adult banter is just for laughs. We (Avon) knew that we were a little behind of where we have been in past years. With this said, I am proud of the boys for making their 6th trip to the championship match in the 6 years history of this event. We will be very strong over the next couple years and look forward to getting better. With this said, I truly believe that this event has boosted the level of other clubs around our state. When this thing first started a few teams of studs, ran through the field. Now... you never know who will come out on top. Every team is coming with mostly full teams, and every team has studs. Big shout out to the Penn Kingsmen. These guys were awesome yesterday. Their dual team will be near the top for many years to come. Very classy team. During my time at the ISWA, I envisioned these duals being a great way to get more kids to wrestle (by teams wanting to get kids out to fill weight classes). I have pulled several kids off the football field to fill weight classes muself. I have heard that from other coaches also. With this said, many kids which would have never wrestled now are wrestling. This will only help build the depth for Indiana wrestling. Again, thank you to the ISWA!!!! BTW.... who doesn't want the first place trophy at any level????
  19. No doubt! That's crap!Congrats to the Lanes. Trey Lane is currently the number one ranked 106 pounder in Florida 2A. The #younggunz could have used him!
  20. Ask and you shall receive. The ISWA is awesome!!!!! We do not give these people enough credit. Not only do we have the biggest community based state elementary dual championship in the USA..... we get a parade to boot!!!! This event is growing like wild fire. I look forward to a great event.
  21. It will be up to Ryan Parrish (developmental folk style director), jmill (folk style director), Pat Vanhorn (state tourney director and our host), Chris lynch(state vice chair), Louis rossbottom (state chair) and the other great folks that run this tourney. I am no longer on the board but will be more then willing to help organize if they decide to do it. Surgery went well. Now long road to rehab!
  22. Let's hire the dj from Brownsburg. Btw.... Who said I was done. Just taking a break! Too many irons in the fire now. My oldest boy is getting cut on today. Prayers please and thanks! #youngguns #gettinghealthy #hendrickscountyhashtagwars
  23. I like it! Line them up down the hall way toward the wrestling room. Bring them out at that end. Walk them around the field house then up the middle of the mats, prior to the national anthem!
