  1. High Rollers Black finish tied for 9th out 120 teams . I am very proud of our teams . They never bowed down to any team and battled with the best . Black had several wrestlers with 8-2 records Congratulations to Brock Hudkins going 10-0 . Look out this kid is slick . Griffins Select and Young Guns , HR's Black only 2 losses are in the finals
  2. IN High rollers lose to Griffin Select 33-11 but had a lot of good matches . Then beat MI Rampage to advance to gold round tomorrow .
  3. IN High Rollers Black win their pool IN High Rollers White draw into very tough pool , with PA Griffins first round and looks like Black will have Griffins 8 am tomorrow .
  4. There is another Lee to look out for and he is not from down south . Beast . is for Brayton
  5. Kyle Reidling (Nasty) Spladles
  6. Although I can think of several I will only mention 3 These three have outstanding sons and they will all graduate this year Mark Forte and Steve Micic have represented this sport with a ton of class and have always treated my family with great respect and always encouraging but more personally due to the many younger years and much lighter weights ago when Cody use to beat up my Tommy every weekend , I don't believe I have met another dad like Ben LeCount . As stressful as this sport can be for not only the wrestler but the parents , Ben has always been the most solid and most coolest dad no matter what . I have attempted to follow his example but he has set a very high bar . Congratulations Dads you have help raise and develop some outstanding young men and it has been a great pleasure watching them all grow up and may God bless them on their new journey .
  7. very sorry . we are praying for you all
  8. it looks like a step in the right direction but I think the passive rules suck. putting too much interpretation into the refs hands. it leaves too much room for a bias opinion.
  9. I think charger dad makes a good point and I definitely got to give it up for the fry master
  10. I also do not know we're there was a negative comment from new pal fans about Union County. I'm sure most of the new pal wrestling community knows who is on Union County wrestling team. they're very solid. congratulations Union County
  11. Looks like Chad Red is the real deal . Beats Hayden 7-0 at super 32 . I thought 106 last year was exciting. This year has a lot of incoming freshman studs. Congratulations to both wrestlers way to represent Indiana.
  12. I want to say. THAT'S LANCE ELLIS RIGHT THERE! Lance you are still the man and a great father. The relationship you have with your boys On and off the mat Has served as a great example And has taught me a lot in how to deal with my own boys. Thanks
  13. Joe Carr and Joe Carr Jr. You can't go wrong with that staff .
  14. the problem is the new rules are supposed to promote more activity but it does the opposite. the previous scoring method definitely encouraged more offense. that is obvious by score totals from then and now. I think the US Should develop a modified way of scoring for the youth club level. We need some way to keep kids involved in learning techniques Of freestyle and greco.
  15. I would also think Disney , although a vacation / wrestling experience, would be a great tool for high school coaches to keep their team motivated to stay in the wrestling room and keep training in the summer .
  16. I didn't say lack of promotion was the decline of freestyle but that there needs to be some now. we need coaches and wrestling parents to encourage athletes to compete. The decline is due to other spring sports , many more folk style tournaments to compete in , and the rule changes which may have been implemented a few years ago but would bet that is when there started a big decline in participation and has rapidly declined ever since. I completely disagree that serious wrestling families have an issue paying 35 bucks for the states premier tournaments . oh yeah you better check you r stats on gymnastics participation . it rivals wrestling.
  17. Has anyone seen how much it cost to compete in a non sanctioned , held in host club gymnastics meet? I think it was around 35.00 plus 10.00 an adult to watch . I use to think wrestling was expensive. Then there is hockey. I don't think the cost of the tournament has anything to do with the number of participants. The wrestling community as a whole need to figure out a way to to promote and generate some excitement with freestyle / greco . Most people stay away from what they don't understand . I am a fan of all 3 styles and don't want to see one scratch out the other . I hope we get more interest in freestyle before it disappears.
  18. I just want to give a shout out to franklin community. Great job with the concessions At scholastic duels. It had to be the best concessions set up that I've been to at any wrestling tournament. The pulled pork was great and the fries were awesome. the pricing was very fair and you even had combo selections.
  19. It is a farce not to give a lot of the credit to all of the wrestling academies in Indiana for the success of the most dominant wrestlers in this state. It is these clubs that have ushered in a younger generation and indoctrinated young wrestlers into the sport. They give an opportunity for all wrestlers to learn and sharpen there skills year round. They encourage IN wrestlers to compete year round in National events while in most cases being there to support and coach them when you would not even see your HS Coaches. My sons have worked out and been blessed with many of these IN academies and has added techniques and philosophies from all of them . All of these clubs offer something different than the other but their number one priority is to build not only a better wrestler but a better person . They offer consistency and routine and a room full of other good wrestlers to train with. Not every HS has a Tonte or Ellis and staff that shows up for every practice elementary to HS and coaches at every local tournament but even then some of their kids supplement their training at these other clubs. A very wise coach told me this year . Its not about the coach , it is about the wrestler. The sooner a coach figures that out , the better he can make his wrestler.
  20. By far the match of the night! If that didn't get you excited ....
  21. I never said I liked it. in fact I don't. I was clarifying that it has always been implemented. As a 8 th grader last year my son wrestled a kid from Illinois that weighed in friday night for highschool state and my kid couldn't lift his feet off the floor he was so big. I feel if a wrestler can make the weight cut he deserves to be there but the equalizer should be wrestling then and there not 2 days to recover. that goes for every tournament unless the playing field is even
  22. 1. I was involved when Indy Nationals premiered and there was faxed weigh ins. it modeled off of liberty nationals accepting weights from Virginia duals. 2. I don't believe Chad Red is the tournament director. 3. I like declare your weight. show up day of and weigh in and if you don't make declared weight, you scratch. period. no pay to move brackets. just go home. thanks for the donation.
  23. champs so far cash james martin lecount mckinley
