    To ALL:

     

    Indiana Frosh-Soph State Championships (Boys and Girls), and

    Indiana Grade School State Championships

     

    All Qualified Contestants have been Imported into both events.     

    As an Imported Tourney, there is no on-line “registration.”   

    Please view the wrestler list inside the event and check on your status.  If you are listed you are already “registered.”

     

    The fees for State are $35, payable upon entry to the Arena at Southport.  

     

    Proceed to scales at the appropriate time.

    Boys Frosh-Soph 106-144:  7:00-8:00 a.m. Saturday

    Girls Frosh-Soph All:  12:00-1:00 p.m. Saturday

    Girls have Actual Weights plus 4

    Boys Frosh-Soph 150-285:  1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday

    Grade School All: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday

     

    Weight Class Changes will be at the scale.   If moving down, make sure you make this preference known.    There is no fee for changes in either direction and your seeding criteria moves with you.

     

    Weigh-Outs for Boys Frosh-Soph:  Upon completion of wrestling in your weight-class on Saturday.  Plus 1.  Your weight class will be called to the Wrestling Room.

     

    Admission for those over the age of 5 is $10.

     

    We will be using the same floor setup as Indy Nationals … 7 mats in the main gym and 5 in the Aux. gym.  

     

    All Coaching must be from the outside perimeter … chairs on carpet corners are provided.

     

    The WIFI is not available at Southport.   Sorry in advance.  We will have several Bout Boards, but you may need to be near a window occasionally to check on Mat Status.

    The 282 Frosh-Soph Semi-State Qualifiers have been imported into the Frosh-Soph State Championships.   Good luck to all tomorrow at your respective Semi-States.  These wrestlers will receive a 3 Seed automatically ... upgraded to a 2 Seed if advancing to the Quarter-Finals ... upgraded to a 1 Seed if becoming an IHSAA State Qualifier.

    The qualifying wrestlers are in the event.  If you believe there are errors or omissions please let me know ... markdurham@mac.com.  This especially refers to the "alternate" question. 

     

    The cost of the event is again $30 like the North and South Qualifiers.   This can be paid upon entry or possibly done through an electronic option ... more soon.

     

    The coach does not count in the Session spectator level, currently set at 1,000 per session.  We estimate 250-300 participants per session, and a normal spectator count is about 2.2x this number, well within limits.

    You are correct:  Session 1 is for 106-145 and Session 2 for 152-285.  If you are a 152 pound wrestler and you "think" you might make the 145 pound weight class, you may come to the morning weigh-in session and make an attempt.   This is on the honor system.

     

    Cash vs. Electronic.   I believe at this point that Southport H.S. has worked out an Electronic payment system (and cash option).   More details later today or tomorrow.

    Congratulations to the 258 Freshmen and Sophomores who qualified for their IHSAA Semi-States ... of the 896 Semi-State spots.   

    Good luck on Saturday at your respective IHSAA Semi-States.

     

    They have been imported into the Indiana Frosh-Soph State Championship with a "3" Separation Criteria (similar to seed).  

    These wrestlers are not permitted in the North or South Frosh-Soph Qualifiers.

     

    Advancement to the Semi-State Quarter-Finals changes the Separation Criteria to "2", and State Qualifiers become a "1".   

     

    Congrats in advance to any IHSAA State Place-winners ... they will be removed from the Frosh-Soph event.  Good luck to all.

    Yes.   Singlet and Shoes with a 4 pound allowance.   Any weight class changes (up or down) will be made at the scales with no fee, with seeding criteria unchanged.   Upon completion of the weight class at the end of the day Saturday we have weigh-outs and an additional allowance of +2.   We expect everyone to make weight as they have in the prior 3 years.   If so, no weigh-in’s on Sunday.  

     

    Saturday morning it’s Pay-at-the-Door, $25, and proceed directly to the Fieldhouse Floor for skin checks and weigh-ins.

    All 262 Freshman and Sophomores who qualified for the IHSAA Semi-States have been imported into the Indiana Frosh-Soph State Tourney.   Good luck to all at the next level.   As a reminder, these 262 wrestlers, having already qualified with a 3 Seed are not permitted in the North and South Qualifiers next Sunday.   They will be permitted into the Indy Nationals event, but their participation and placement there will not count against any person trying to qualify for Frosh-Soph State.
