  2. Starting a new thread for this, based on discussion in the IHSWCA Team Rankings messages. Who has the best dual lineup in the state, overall or in their class? There have been enough matches now to get an idea of lineups, let's see them side by side to figure out who would come out on top? Anyone got the lineup for Perry vs Cathedral? Penn? EMD? Yorktown?
  3. Bellmont doesn't have any ranked wrestlers? Baumgartner? Sounds like it's going to be a great tournament
  4. One big pin-on button that simply reads "NO CLASS" ;D
  5. Alumni matches at noon? THAT could get scary! :-X
  6. From WLFI.com LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Veterans got a strong helping hand, lots of them in fact, from the Harrison wrestling team Friday night. Full Story: http://www.wlfi.com/news/local/harrison-wrestlers-help-raise-money-for-veterans
  7. I can't believe I'm the only vote for "Whos gonna win as a team?" Come on people, get on board
  8. Please try a similar quote on your spouse, and report back the results! ;D ""I'm not going to bash my wife, but what has she really done since that wild time on our honeymoon?"... Honey -- it WASN'T a bash!!
  9. What are projected weight classes for these recruits?
  10. Lee is but a freshman, so I wouldn't put a lot of pressure on him to win versus the older much more experienced Micic. That said, it does have a similar setup as the classic Tsirtsis/Quiroga matchups. Do EMD and Hanover Central have any chance of meeting up prior to state championship tourney?
  11. base

    Micic

Northwestern gets arguably the best 3 wrestlers to come out of Indiana in each of the past few years. C'mon Purdue and Indiana!! Step up your recruiting game guys! Let's keep some of these kids home
  12. Big Bob 77 perhaps should be Big Toe 77

  14. Big Bob 77, did you consider adding Yorktown to this poll, their lineup from Disney Duals was solid. I don't know how they will stack up against these teams
  15. If anyone does, I'm guessing coach Ellis's parents may have videotaped his matches. I believe Coach Ellis frequents these boards -- how about it Lance? Do you have a compilation of some of your matches you can share? Inquiring fans would love to see the old footage
  16. Don't know Nick or the Lee family, and just my personal opinion (their family decision is what's important) but I think it would be a shame to miss out on the high school experience of being on the team with his friends and competing as a team. HS wrestling is about 5 months per year. That leaves 7 more to stack up national accolades and other more individual goals. Either way, good luck to this young man, his accomplishments over the past several years have been impressive
  17. To me, this is like saying that Babe Ruth wasn't as good as today's sluggers because the modern pitchers are more specialized and throw faster. Or that Jim Brown isn't as good of a runner as today's RBs cause the defensive players weren't as big or fast. WITHIN the period that he wrestled, Ellis was dominant like no other. I can't think of a sport where old generation athletes are "better" than modern athletes. I don't, however, think that takes away from their accomplishments. If that were the case, you would have seen many other wrestlers from the 80s with 80% pinning percentages, but to my knowledge they don't exist.
  18. Y2, for the record, it's Will Egli ...... not Egly
