  1. Better question right now is will it be in Purdue this year since they were skipped last year due to renovations?
  2. I'm sure they program robots to do there wrestling or any other athletic activity for that matter.
  3. Nice. Tell me he at least caught one guy in one of his patented headlocks.
  4. Are they rolling up the mats after each practice or did they actually have a permanite palce to practice these days?
  5. At the current time the roster on their webpage is still missing all of the incoming recruits. They did not list 3 underclassman however that were on the team last year, so that may be another reason its a smaller list.
  6. Thats this season's show. Probably won't come back to those weight classes for anther 2-4 years. He would still need to back on about 20 or so more pounds to make the low one so by then he may be able to.
  7. I corrected my above statement to make more sense. Brooks is at least on the returning list, so I would guess the coaches at least expect him to come back this season. I haven't spoken with anyone with better inside information though since school has started. What I was meaning to say before was they haven't added anyone if the incoming guys to the roster so it's hard to tell who all will actually from the commitment list will actually be on the team at this point. Here who they list as their 2o11-12 signing JOSH JULIEN ? 125 lbs. Lebanon High School (Indiana) ... placed sixth in the 2010 state championships ... semi-state qualifier ... career record of 130-28. NICK SIMPSION ? 125 lbs. Clermont Northeastern High School (Ohio) ... placed third at the 2011 state championships. BOB MEYERS ? 125/133 lbs. Radnor High School (Pennsylvania) ... Owner of a 104-14 career record. ERIC ROACH ? 149 lbs. Crown Point High School (Indiana) ... ranked seventh nationally at 145 pounds and No. 46 overall ... two-time state champion ... 2010 Flonationals champion. LUKE SHERIDAN ? 184 lbs. De La Salle High School (California) ... ranked 12th nationally at 189 pounds and No. 88 overall ... a three-time state place winner ... a 2010 Junior National champion ... third-place showing at the Senior Nationals. GARRET GOLDMAN ? 197 lbs. Bloomington High School North (Indiana) ... ranked 15th nationally at 189 pounds ... won the 2011 state championship with a record of 40-1 ... a Super 32 place winner. ADAM CHALFANT ? 285 lbs. Harper Community College (Illinois) ... won the Indiana state championship in 2009 ... placed third at the JUCO Nationals. CLAYTON CHABERSKI ? 285 lbs. Genoa-Kingston High School (Illinois) ... runner-up at the 2010 state championships. http://iuhoosiers.cstv.com/sports/m-wrestl/spec-rel/050311aaa.html
  8. For some reason three underclassman from last year Kriss, Meisner, and St. James are missing from the new roster thus far which is making IU's returning roster look a little small. But on that roster none of the incoming recruits like Roach have been listed yet. I'm guessing they will be added once the season begins.
  9. Rosbottom has been working tirelessly for many years to help improve wrestling in the Jeffersonville area and throughout Indiana. A well deserved honor.
  10. If you go to The Open Mat's college forum you can find some information reguarding the issue near the end of one of the treads about PSU or Andrew Long.
  11. Since he can train out of the Nittany Lion WC (which has three current world team members) I'm going to guess he could continue on as the full time . Though it would seem likely he will be giving a few more of the day to day responsibilities to the rest of his staff as he prepares to make an Olympic run.
  12. Kayla vs. Kazakhstan http://www.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=1zr4in6ADaE Kayla vs. Hungry http://www.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=i92vhrvxruE
  13. Huh. Sounds like some members of the team are having some judgement issue since winning the national title. These recent events can't be helping Cael stay focused on the Worlds and an Olympic run.
  14. Though she was unable to accomplish her ultimate goal, I'm sure she still represented IN and the United States very well. I look forward to her having another crack at the world next year and for several years to come.
  15. http://www.indystar.com/article/20110824/SPORTS15/108240319/Kravitz-Lytle-leaves-octagon-comforts-home?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Sports
  16. Bantamweights Matt Jaggars (Connersville) http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/11/Meet-the-TUF-14-Cast-34956 Casey Dyer (New Castle) http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/7/Meet-the-TUF-14-Cast-34956 Orville Smith (Indianapolis) http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/16/Meet-the-TUF-14-Cast-34956 Many notable bantamweights to battle through are part of the show, including TJ Dillashaw, John Dodson, Paul McVeigh and several other lesser known guys who have amassed great records through local shows. Should be a great season and the featherweights are just as solid. Plus a interesting story with a pair of brothers from KY both at bantamweight. The show will go back to it's first episode elimination bouts to determine the final group that will stay in the house. Though with 3 at bantamweight it looks like Indiana has good odds of getting a representative in the house. The show starts Sept. 21st on Spike.
  17. Is that your sutle way of wanting someone to give you a closer seat this year? ;D
  18. Yes, it should be. To bad he's not a lightweight, PSU is currently havig some issues finding someone able to fill one of those spots.
  19. I do not believe most of these states choose to allow middle school participation because they believed some were at an advanced skill level. For many of these states it was to help with filling a lack of numbers in those sports. True from that came some talented youngsters, but the intention was to help schools field a larger team not find a middle school stud.
  20. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/UFC-Fox-Announce-7-Year-Broadcast-Deal-34862 Looks like a decent deal though you will need FX for some of the content and Fuel TV for all the pre-PPV, prelims, and post-PPV stuff. Interesting that the next few seasons of Ultimate Fighter on FX will feature both live fights at the end of each episode and allow the fans to vote on who will compete in the next weeks fight. TUF 14 in September will be the last on Spike.
  21. As a test for the top guys early in the season it is hard to top the Capital City Classic. That event shows who prepared for the new season and who didn't.
  22. Lytle stood brawled the entire fight until Hardy shot with less than a minutes left. Chris threw in a Guillotine Choke and submitted Hardy. Two of his kids came in the ring to congratulate him after the win. He has received a lot of respect all night from the broadcast crew and walked off with a Fight of the Night and Submission of the Night bonus. Lytle now is the UFC's all time bonus and fight of the night leader. Solid end to his fight career.
  23. Well Barry Davis said a few weeks back he wad close to snagging a top Indiana recruit for Wisconsin. Not sure if the assistant shake up affected that one from finalizing or not.
  24. They can actually get a waver from the IHSAA if the board though it was worth it. They did this in basketball a few years ago because Indiana was hosting some national high school showcase, so the IHSAA allowed us to face a team from farther away than the current rule. The part of the rule about how far of a distance a school can travel is OK with me. However, if we are within that radius I do not see an issue with facing teams that may travel from farther away. That part of the rule as keep Indiana teams out of several major national tournaments in many sports in cluding wrestling. It also has prevented top teams from around the country from traveling to Indiana or even meeting at a neutral site to play a national game. Seems to be our travel radius is a decent rule, but the IHSAA shouldn't be concerned about the travel distance of other teams we face. If they want to travel futher to face Indiana teams then that is for their state assiciation to decide not ours.
