  1. The VanBrills are pretty long and pretty tough on top, but Nick needs to be able to get out from underneath a little better to finish in the money. He's as solid as anyone at 141 in neutral, but his par terre will be exposed at Big10s and NCAAs if he doesn't continue to improve on bottom. Great year thus far, though, especially for a true freshman. The sky is the limit
  2. Caleb Oliver escapes a sectionals catastrophe by eking out a nail biter against Bolen of Chatard 7-6.
  3. Harshburger of LN beat Caleb Oliver of Cathedral 2-0. Oliver still alive to advance though
  4. Micic, Lee and Red all have great potential to AA this year. The next level: Lydy is red hot and has some great wins this year. A solid darkhorse at NCAAs Tsirtsis hasn't officially won a spot in the starting lineup, but seems like a solid possibility to AA if he gets the nod. His 149 rival, Josh Maruca, is very solid Luke Welch, Streck, Hudkins all have had excellent seasons and are legit buy-low AA candidates Zack Davis of Navy and Ben Harvey of Army are having very solid seasons as well. They are more like AA longshots but could pull a big upset or two Can't quite see Sliga finishing as an AA, as he has really struggled to beat better competition
  5. Davis going for 5th against Hammond from Drexel
  6. Nick Lee into the finals with a fall over top seed Josh Alber of UNI. You may recall Alber beat Chad Red at Cliff Keen. With Cortez bowing out of the scuffle, Lee's redshirt is looking mighty pink. We may see two of Indiana's all time best step into their starting line-ups in the near future, as Tsirtsis has been excellent back at 149 and is likely the better option for ASU than Maruca. Oh, and Zack Davis has been strong in this tourney, too. Looking for a high placement.
  7. Beating Maruca is easier than beating Shields at ASU. He has to crack the lineup first. Hope he does because i respect him immensely
  8. Indiana has had 4 modern NCAA champs....period. 3 are from lake county, 1 from madison county. Gonna be a while before any county surpasses lake
  9. Not too many places in life you can get something of quality for free. Regardless of anyone's opinion of paying for rankings, the fact remains that the rankings are statistically excellent, and it's not an accident. The rankers are very, very invested in the sport and their excellence has already been proven factually
  10. Is this at the Bone Zone or at avon? Edit --- nevermind, it's not at the Bone Zone
  11. The US team is one day away from finishing the U23s with zero medals in all 3 combined styles. While Miracle and Fearnside made solid runs, most of the Americans have gone 0-1 and prayed for repechage luck. This is really unbelievable
  12. He got 3rd, lost to HWT AA Ty Walz of vatech
  13. Miracle eases into the finals in dominant fashion
  14. I have a strong feeling it's going to be pretty amazing news
  15. Not sure about Cummings, but I'm pretty sure Laughlin is attending the prep academy
  16. Personal opinion. He's been scouted to death. His short levers for the weight class affect him negatively offensively and defensively. His quickness, great positioning and excellent technique will always make him a tough out for all but the true elite at 149 or 157. He's already had an incredible career, but it's hard to see him reinventing himself as a senior. That said, I'll be rooting for him to do just that
  17. Floyd has been nearly impossible to hit squarely for most of his career. Boxers with much better hand speed than mcG have failed to touch mayweather. Conor has a powerful left and is the bigger man, but he may have few opportunities to put his hands on the slippery mayweather
  18. No way in hell a MMA match between the two would be close. Mayweather's never been leg kicked nor fought from his back. Pretty much the same in reverse for a boxing match. Mayweather should stop him. If Nate Diaz could stun McGregor, mayweather should tko or ko him. Love them or hate them, these guys can generate an amazing amount of interest
