  1. There are numerous factors that come in to play. The one I use most though is the dart board I have in my garage. I usually just put all the names of every wrestler I have in each weight on it and throw a handful of darts labeled 1-8. Whatever happens, happens.
  2. This one is my bad, the early results for Avon I had were with Connors in the line up and it was an oversight on my part to not add Conley back in.
  3. Appreciate all the info and updated weights, keep them coming. Just a couple things, Brayden Littell wasn't an oversight I just didn't have any info on his weight and didn't want to totally guess. He'll most likely be in the next set. Also, from the next set forward there will 8 rankings per weight. The 6 was essentially just to get the ball rolling and to prompt people to get info in and to put something out with what info/previous knowledge I had. Again, thanks for any info that comes my way!
  4. It blows my mind that someone who wrestled for Gable in some of the pinnacle Iowa days could be so content with mediocrity. Especially given his own successes on the mat. I've heard rumblings that he essentially self sustains the program with donations. With the successes of soccer and swimming and the focus on basketball, Fred Glass really has no incentive to get him out of there. Seems like they are out of sight out of mind.
  5. The Madisonians are probably out. West side feels more like home!
  6. Unfortunately people with very limited wrestling knowledge make these decisions. They are happy with the final product (State Finals) because they know we will never not attend the state tournament based off of the current format. It's easier to keep it how it is, so why change it?
  7. Only way he beats the Zain Train is counter offense, ride out, and getting away or not getting scored on while on bottom; he will not win off of his own attacks. Probably couldn't get off one legit set up offensive attack on Retherford.
  8. Welp, apparently they just didn't work hard enough, or want it bad enough or some other terrible cliche that I don't have the white trash brain power to come up with. I'm sure a single class supporter can help me out with some more.
  9. 1954 Milan Indians!!! Anomalies that turn into movies justify all unfairness in any sport. That's true promotion!
  10. A facetious font would've done some good here on my part.
  11. Billy would know. He's been to every NCAA Championship since 1979.
  12. I agree with that. It has just been mentioned that since Lee demolished Molloy and Red stayed relatively close with him last year and now Welliever, that somehow that justifies Lee beating Red. Again, my pick is Red after watching him in the off-season and Lee not having the benefit of wrestling the entire season (not that he'll have much mat rust). Although I'm sure neither of them care nor want my opinion, and I'm cool with that, I just can't wait to watch it (assuming it happens that way).
  13. If I were to guess, the whole kids staying close with Red and not with Lee is probably of mixture of Red's boredom due to his dominance and also having a target on him being #1 in the country. I agree with the style match up. Red's defense is unbelievable (see OPRF combine with Dardanes on flo) and I don't see him getting taken down, but maybe once in this match and as high scoring as it should be I bet that won't be the difference. All this coming from a guy who picked Lee over Micic 2 years ago, so don't assume I'm a hater.
  14. Essentially, all that I've gathered from this entire thread is that single class supporters refuse to accept facts and use anecdotal evidence as truth. Multi-class supporters use valid evidence and statistics to prove their point, but to no avail. It's like playing chess with a pigeon...
  15. It would be cool if Non-D1 champs were still allowed to compete in the D1 tournament. I understand the reasoning for getting rid of that, but I would bet he (Lefever) would do well.
  16. Taylor Vieck - Vincennes Lincoln I don't think I need to say anything else.
  17. I'm a huge Lee fan and was a guy that had him over Micic a couple years ago. That being said, when it comes to Red, it's hard to beat someone when you won't be able to score on them.
  18. Did coach Burlingame leave Manchester? I must've missed that somewhere.
  19. Just a reminder, ISWA Beach Wrestling State Championships are this Saturday in Madison. This is the 3rd year for it and we'd like to see this event really take off. It's a special event to people from the area as we are an official event of the Madison Regatta. Come out and try something different and have fun doing it. Old guys are welcome too, as that is one of our more entertaining groups! Championship belts go out to winners and medals for 2nd and 3rd. Registration is on Trackwrestling. Here is the link to the event flyer: http://www.trackwrestling2.com/tw/uploads/O-189884009-2015_info_sheet.pdf
  20. I know from the outside, there has been a push for this for a couple of years now. A lot of it has to do with trying to grow the sport and this is a way to do away with the stigma attached to singlets from outsiders.T.R. Foley, one of the writers for Intermat, has been an outspoken proponent of it in his Friday Mailbags as well as on that blue bird site.
  21. The accomplishments of the IL guys were only from this year. Brandon Briggs is a 2x State Champ and 2x Runner up, so some of those credentials may be a little deceptive.
  22. 125 #5 Jordan Conaway 133 #1 Chris Dardanes 141 #1 Logan Stieber 149 #2 Jason Tsirtsis 165 #5 Jackson Morse 157 #3 James Green 174 #4 Logan Storley 184 #4 Brett Pfarr 197 #2 Morgan McIntosh 285 #3 Mike McMullan Iowa, Minnesota, tOSU
  23. Or continuing to warm up and jump around...
  24. You obviously didn't read the second half of that post. Once the schedule is set (prior to Ersland getting there) it is very difficult to change. Give the guy more than 6 months to put things into motion.
