  1. Thanks. I was just curious as to why they wouldn't change it in the bulletin. You da man Y2!
  2. Where is ancient elder when you need him?
  3. VII Scoring Individual and team scoring shall be decided according to Rule 9 in the current Wrestling Rules. Six places shall be awarded at the sectional. Team scoring in the sectional shall begin at the quarter‐finals level and not before. Only four places shall be awarded at the regional and semi‐state levels. Scoring at the Regional, and Semi‐State level will begin at the round of eight. Team scoring at the State meet will begin during the opening round with advancement points. So my question is, when do we start scoring? Looking at results from last year, it appears that the first round was scored at the Semi-State level. Was the bulletin different last year?
  4. Hey rat, get over it, the Semi State is not at Merryville anymore. No need to keep taking shots at it. If I recall, you Highland guys always had decent seats.
  5. Has to be top 3, if not the top in terms of ticket round matches. For all the losses that he took to Ramos that year, he seemed to have given to my brother that year. I recall them wrestling a few times and BJ never quite being able to beat him. I remember them being pretty physical matches also.
  6. Kourtney Berry and Dexter Larimore of Merrillville were two of the better from Merrillville and I have to mention Jake Smith from Munster ran a pretty good one. So many others, I recall the Bradley boys from Beech Groove having pretty decent cradles also.
  7. 120 is is just outright NASTY! Anderson/Gomez/Poynter - Mat 1 Alexander/Kelly - Mat2 Triana/Niewoehner/DeVault/Johnson - Mat 3 Bautista/McCartney/DeMien - Mat 4
  8. I am not a fan of the whole counting shots to determine stalling. As long as both wrestlers are not avoiding wrestling, then keep it in your pocket. So your telling me a guy that maybe likes to throw or run front headlocks to create offense, that can possibly not attempt a shot during a match, can be considered stalling if his opponent out shoots him?
  9. Someone will always be upset with the draws. I however am not upset at all. i just think it is in the best interest of everyone to release them at the same time. This would prevent any temptation and/or manipulation of said draws. Not to mention, we should not forget the debacle a few years ago when State brackets were completely redrawn because of early leaks. Calumet was a little behind but don't forget that there is two time zones in Indiana that play a part in the release also.
  10. Although it is great that these were posted right away, they should have waited until ALL Regionals were completed.
  11. Not as easy as some think to just start up a tournament. We are talking getting officials, table help, etc. On the topic of Freshman wrestling, I know of a school who hosts a freshman night on Mondays. No weigh ins, bring your freshman, match up and get at least two matches. Anybody else do this?
  12. No problem. Dexter was definitely one of the best. His two losses in the finals were to a couple of pretty impressive big guys as well. A 3-2 loss to Kasten and pinned by Ruggeri in 1:10. The thing I always ask about "locks" , they all have keys to open them, question is, Do you possess that key?
  13. Dexter was a 3x Finalist with 1 Title.
  14. X Pairings and Seeding A. Sectional pairings and seeding will be made at 7:00 p.m. on the Monday preceding the sectional tournament at the center school. 1. Each participating school in that sectional may have only 1 representative voting. Positions of contestants from schools not represented will be drawn by lot. 2. Six contestants shall be seeded in each weight class. Coaches are required to bring their official team scorebook and all of their Alpha Master Reports for each season contest date. A coaches’ failure to have his official team scorebook and his Alpha Master Reports shall result in his school’s entries being unseeded unless a majority of the other coaches present wish to seed the offending school’s wrestlers. What exactly did he not bring to the seeding meeting?
  15. We can agree to disagree, beauty of this whole discussion thing! I missed one of the two matches they had, but I do know one year it was a mutual decision amongst the two behemoths to wrestle in the dual. None the less, two great big men to come through Indiana.
  16. A refresher sportsfangms, which I am a huge fan of your posts myself. 2016 Finals Run d. B. Amos, FALL :38, d. Klem, FALL 1:49, d. I. McWilliams FALL :37(Who is #1 this year?), and Samuals 9-5(Pinned him earlier in the year in less than :40, hats off to game planning for the rematch) 2015 FInals Run d. Hiestand, FALL 3:34. d. York FALL 1:20, d. Biddle FALL 4:27, and d. Trawick FALL 5:34 2014 he lost to Wesley Bernard. (Eventual Champ) 2013 he lost to Donte Winfield. (1-0 who also was eventual champ.) 8 Falls in his 4 years in the 285 division at the State Tournament. He definitely belongs in this conversation. Not many guys can maintain this level over a 4 year career at this weight class.
  17. Only Fairhaven I know about.
  18. I feel like they have misinterpreted the criteria. I thought head to head as the first criteria was pretty black and white.
