  1. There is no requirement or need to weigh-in in the locker room. This year they have to weigh-in wearing a singlet (or legal two piece uniform).
  2. Stan Gress 189lbs from Southridge in 1988
  3. Yes. I thought I copied and pasted the results of both but I only got one. Semistate 171lbs 1996-97 1. Jared Williams, Evansville Harrison; 2. Josh Hardy, Pnnceton, 3. Mike Schroeder Evansville Mater Dei; 4. Geno Roderick, Franklin. State 171lbs 1996-97 1. Josh Hardy, Princeton; 2. Jared Willimns Evansville Harrison· 3. Geno Roderick Franklin; 4. Mike Schroeder, Evansville Mater Dei
  4. In 1996-97 at 171lbs Semistate 1. Josh Hardy, Princeton; 2. Jared Willimns Evansville Harrison· 3. Geno Roderick Franklin; 4. Mike Schroeder, Evansville Mater Dei; State 1. Josh Hardy, Princeton; 2. Jared Willimns Evansville Harrison· 3. Geno Roderick Franklin; 4. Mike Schroeder, Evansville Mater Dei;
  5. How are the "pts available figured? For example Mt. Vernon has 6 wrestlers left. Only one is a senior and the other five are underclassmen. The list has them with 0 pts available.
  6. That result is not what is shown on the Tri sectional brackets. It shows Knightstown lost his last match 4-2.
  7. If the team score will not be close this time who do you say wins? I think the top three teams in order will be Boonville, Castle, and Evansville Memorial.
  8. This is from the Providence website. Took all of 30 seconds to find. 2019-2020 Tuition and Fees Tuition Information for upcoming school year Deanery student rate $12,990 Non-Deanery student rate Non-Deanery students do not receive parish discount. $14,740
  9. So is there anywhere we can see the brackets?
  10. Your numbers don't add up to 18. With each tournament counting as 2 and a dual counting as 1. 5 tournaments = 10 7 duals = 7 10 + 7 =17. Or 4 tournaments = 8 8 duals = 8 8+8 =16 Instead if you only had 5 tournaments you could have 8 duals. Or if you only had 4 tournaments you could have 10 duals.
  11. This is the IHSAA by-law 60-2 The maximum number of season wrestling dual meets in which any team or student may participate, excluding the IHSAA Tournament Series, shall be Eighteen (18); however, a team or student may participate in additional season tournaments (an interschool wrestling Rule 60 - Wrestling 116 meet which involved Three (3) or more schools is a tournament) up to a maximum of Six (6), provided each tournament counts as Two (2) of the Eighteen (18) dual meets. A triangular meet (double dual) is counted as Two (2) dual meets towards a team’s Six (6) dual meet maximum. Each weigh-in for any tournament shall count as only One (1) weighin toward the minimum requirements for IHSAA Tournament Series qualification.
  12. Context matters. This is how it was used. As I read his post I understood it to be as defined below. I did not think of people with cognitive disabilities. The reason I did not think of people with cognitive disabilities is because there was no reason to believe he was referring to any person or group of people. re·tard verb 3rd person present: retards /riˈtärd/ delay or hold back in terms of progress, development, or accomplishment. "our progress was retarded by unforeseen difficulties"
  13. It was his 2nd injury time. When a wrestler takes his 2nd injury time his opponent gets his choice of top, bottom, or neutral on the restart.
  14. The coaches voted to not keep score in the first round of sectional where a 16 man bracket is used. It makes it more fair for team scoring to not have a team get a big lead because they got lucky in the draw and got a lot of forfeits where other teams got byes. The IHSAA then decided that to be consistent we would not score any level of the tournament until the 1/4 finals or round of 8.
  15. Its no big deal. Its just that as it has been posted on this website many times that it does not matter if a school is closed or not. It matters if they can practice or not. You could post that you like turtles instead of the fact that a school is closed. That has the same bearing on if there will be any additional pounds given for the regional or not.
  16. Thanks for taking the time to come back and let us know that you agree with your own post. As to your first post, just telling us that a school is closed does not tell us if they can practice or not today. As others have said it matters if they can have a practice or not.
  17. At the regional the 5th place from the replaced wrestlers sectional is the first alternate. If that wrestler is unavailable then the next alternate is the 6th place wrestler from that sectional. They do not replace the exact seed. Everyone moves up from that sectional.
  18. If a school can not practice due to weather the two days before the event you can get an additional 2 pounds. Two is the limit.
  19. If a school was not allowed to practice due to the weather you can get an extra pound. If that is the case that school should have contacted the host school and the host school should have let every other school know.
  20. Rules for college and high school are not always the same. In high school in the 80's they were not legal.
  21. no. I wrestled in the 80's. they were not legal at that time. Here is a story from 1985 that confirms there were not legal. https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/wellness/1985/11/27/wrestling-to-make-weight/b86b3727-278c-4e82-831c-83f9bf937355/?utm_term=.e6e0122ca3f3
