Could be, but his losses have come from the Ironman where his two losses were to place winners.  One of them to the #4 kid in the nation.  He also lost at the Carnahan to the #10 ranked kid in the nation 3-2 I believe.  He did beat the Michigan state champ at the Carnahan and #3 in the state Braylon Reynolds.

I guess when it comes to seeding in Indiana tournaments it is harmful to teams and wrestlers that compete in national events.  CP, Brownsburg and Center Grove will have state champs this year that will have 3-4 losses.

My point is to apply common sense.  If you are going to rank a kid #2 in the state, why would you seed #9, #10, #11, #14 and #18 in the state ahead of him?  Either the rankings are flawed, or the seeding criteria is flawed. That's all.

Dude, if you're that good...... just Win! It doesn't matter seed when you're really freaking good.

When choosing a community to move to if sports has an impact

    1. does your coach help you all year or is only an October-February it’s a lot tougher to be a part time wrestler and have success

    2. does it create a better training environment in season Partners, weight program coaching or coaching plans

    3. does the school have a better academics then our current community

    4. does the sport have better overall community support

I think as a parent that makes the choice easy for me.

    Exactly!! Perfect breakdown.

The article that Anna Kayser did early in the season summarizes Brownsburg's rise when Darrick took over. The other element that tagged in when Darrick arrived was the decision of Brayton Lee choosing to stay home in Purplesburg vs going elsewhere to high school. Darrick's endorsement of kids attending academies AND his open practices is also a key point. The BCSC administrators are also great supporters of co-curricular activities and often attend regionals, SS, and state finals...

I also wondered this weekend what Chesterton would have accomplished if the guys who went to elementary school would've stayed through HS...?

    3 Champs:

    132 Sergio Lemley

    145 Aiden Torres

    160 Sam Goin

I haven’t seen anyone mention it but how about Merritt almost sticking Goin👀

    Nothing to see here! LOL

From my perspective I witnessed a home run attempt vs a Nationally ranked kid…who fought out of position and put on a takedown clinic to a pin of his own! All while wrestling with a separate Shoulder from Day one of tournament. Then proceeded to wrestle with one arm in finals to a tech fall. So yeah tons to discuss

    1. 132

    2. 120

    3. 113

    (in order) Thoughts?

Yeah probably not 113 or 120! I mean 132? Yeah….not sure how tough.

Toughest? What does toughest mean? Most nationally ranked kids? Most kids with win over others states during summer/fall! Because typically those smaller weight are dominant by underclass men.

    toughest weights are typically 138-170.

Looks like there gonna be studs again this year, but im exited for the semi state this year to see our kingsmen try to chase down the bulldogs. We bring a few studs to the table though. Jendreas vs Bennett, Harper vs Frazier, Denton vs Hawkins, Steenbeke vs Goin

Yes, EC Semi State should be pretty good this year. We will see how weight classes shake out as season begins.

They announced the Team State locations!

1A/3A Franklin Community (I am being told 1A will be on 6 mats in the field house, and 3A will be in the main gym.)

    2A Jay County

    4A Brownsburg

Think we will keep changing locations until they find the perfect combinations to adequately accommodate all classes!

Thank you to all of those that are apart of the coaches association and have helped build this tournament up.

This seems a lot like last year!

Can't understand why they are still using 3 locations!

Please for the love don't tell me COVID

Every time I've watched Manville he has a huge gas tank and always in your face with pressure, that will be a tough match up for Anthony. I also wondered why Carroll wasn't wrestling for Indiana, but realized he's on Minion Legends the team that won it last year and pretty sure Christian is friends with a wrestler on the team named Gabe Arnold who is an Iowa commit.

Too bad Because I know Sam Goin turned down Black mambas and POWA to wrestle with team Indiana. To each his own!

Frazier vs. Knox and Goin vs. Sealey are two matches that I think are going to be close. I also think that Gunner Henry is ready to be in the top 20 and want to see how he stacks up against Jude Correa. Similarly, Landon Hawkins has been a rising star and I think Landon Robideau will be a great indicator as to how elite he is going to be in the coming years.

Yes, I'm hoping these matches go to the Indiana boy's because I know a few of them personally and know the work being put in is at a ridiculous level. Firm believer in sowing and reaping! Either way gives a great preview for Super 32 which allows boys to make adjustments!

It’s commonly known among Indiana wrestling fans that Indiana wrestlers are not very respected when it comes to national rankings. The Elite 8 Duals is a great opportunity to change that. This weekend, a squad of 15 of Indiana’s best will battle against some of the best that the country has to offer, with at least one nationally ranked competitor in every weight class, and as many as eight or nine in some weight classes. This weekend will be a great chance to show the rest of the country the talent of Indiana wrestling.

That being said, I thought that I would go through and look up the nationally ranked competition in every weight class, so that you all could know the potential matchups to look forward to this weekend. Of course, our guys won’t get to wrestle every wrestler, but depending on our day one performance, each guy will likely wrestle at least a couple nationally ranked foes (aside from the weight classes with only one or two nationally ranked guys, which isn’t a lot of weight classes).
