  1. I actually feel like a lot of good things are happening off the mat. This weekend was high emotion, and that breeds tension. I saw kids that were finished staying to watch placement matches. Many of these kids weren’t from the same school, club, region or semi-state. I saw kids that don’t know each other talk and interact and support each other. I saw parents hug their kids and tell them how proud they were. I saw coaches tell a kid how much they’ve grown. I would argue there is more of that than the opposite. Bad things get a lot of attention, but I think we should focus on all of the good stuff instead. The future is bright in Indiana for wrestling. This tournament seems to get tougher every year, and that’s awesome.
  2. Well, the final matches were defeated by the fire alarm and evacuation of the building. Odd ending to a tournament. Most people missed out on that one.
  3. Are you able to stream? I have tried from the dashboard. I have tried from Flo. Flo doesn’t even list it as a live event. Would love to see Tony wrestle too.
  4. I know that I’m a simple minded old man, but I can’t seem to see the ISWA stream. It says that there are no replays, and I have an invalid stream ID. Are they not live streaming the event?
  5. Jeremy Carver from Delta has incredible national level wins and experience. He’s been high level dominant. Multiple MS state championship, ISWA and triple crown. He has to be in the mix at 106. Not afraid of anyone and technically sound.
  6. I think 1/1:30/1:30 is the best option although I have no issue w consolation matches in tournaments going 1/1/1 for time. 1/1/1 is very short. Kids are working on skills and this doesn’t give them much opportunity to get better. A 2 minute first period is a waste. There will either be a first period takedown or not. 1 minute is adequate to figure that out.
  7. I usually just turn the volume down. It was fun today. it was a bit clearer than usual. I particularly loved listening to some of the (presumed) HS kids so clearly describing what the(very high level) middle schoolers needed to do. He just needs to get up. He had a great shot at a spladel there. Why would the choose that position? Etc. great stuff.
  8. I cannot express how much I enjoyed the table workers’ commentary during MS State. There was unpleasant language, some smack talk, coaching criticisms and much more. One of my favorite moments was when a pleasant woman told the table workers that they could be heard on the stream. Shortly thereafter, “we didn’t say anything bad did we?… I think this kid is going to do really well…”. Great stuff.
  9. Maybe(probably) hundreds of thousands

  11. That’s what I’m talking about!
  12. Much respect to everyone choosing their favorite, but does it even count if you don’t post a picture?
  13. Just happened with 20 seconds left in the first match of Crown Point vs. Mt. Carmel. Score was 2-0 and was about to be 2-2 when the kid called his own injury time.

  15. Please refer to related post about the rise of FWSS. A ton of people working hard to bring the region up. Exciting times and this show it.
