Marian University-Ancilla is a Junior College in Plymouth, IN. As a Junior College we are always actively recruiting all weights. If you are a Senior and looking to wrestle in college and still looking for your home at the next level, I would like the opportunity to talk with you about the opportunity here. This year we had 4 National Qualifiers and 8 Academic All-Americans. In the past 5 yrs we have had 14 National Qualifiers and 18 Academic All-Americans. We wrestle a predominant schedule of 4 yr schools and have success at helping our wrestlers move on to a 4 yr school.  Athletes, parents and coaches, if you are interested or know of someone that may be interested, please feel free to contact me at the following:

It was a great day at Mooresville for Indiana Wrestling.  One high light for me was the amount of team members both boys and girls who came up to me and thanked me for having them on the team and how much they appreciated the opportunity to compete one more time.  We really are producing some great wrestlers in our state and more importantly these kids have a lot of class and respect.

Hey there everyone! Pardon the 3rd person description, I just wanted to give you a heads up that I will be covering the USA Wrestling Olympic Trials at Penn State.

I'm briefly stepping out of retirement to attend the Trials as an approved media member and I wanted to give folks an opportunity to suggest/request questions I can ask the athletes participating, particularly those with Indiana ties. I haven't done this in the past, but what the heck!

I'll have more information and articles to come, but please feel free to shoot me question ideas, even if they are ridiculous

Thank you and I look forward to sharing this journey with anyone interested.

I don't go back too far for this, at Warren Central it would be either Brandon Wright, a 4-time finalist, 2-time champ, 2-time runner up, or Danny Williams a 2-time champ and 3-time semifinalist.

Brandon earned 2 runner-up and a championship at Cathedral.

I can see an argument where the absence of wrestle-backs add a brutal dose of reality in that sometimes life seems like the a spin of the roulette wheel.  Coming up short in that type of scenario—like a ticket rounder who’s actually a “top four in the state” wrestler—that type of experience could likely teach good lessons.  (Not sure if you’re being sarcastic, I haven’t read through a lot of these class wrestling threads and don’t know what your position on it is).

But honestly, would I really want that experience for my kid?  A lot of stuff will teach good lessons that I’d rather them not go through.

The main reason for my position on wrestle-backs is I think it would add integrity to the tournament to truly find out who the best is.

My opinion is my own and based on what I think is best for my kids.  I respect everyone else’s opinion as well, and can see the small school perspective.  This is just my .02

I second this.  And kudos to you for hanging in there for your kids the way you did.

I didn’t wrestle as much as my sons have, but I had a brutal upbringing. The little wrestling I did helped teach me I could persevere and rise above in the face of hardship and adversity.

My sons have a much more stable and comfortable upbringing, but I introduced them all to wrestling because I wanted them to learn what it has to teach.

In that theme, I think the IN state tournament in its current form is perfect.  Especially in an ever-softening world.

Why make our wrestling softer and have wrestle-backs? Should we give kids a second chance after they lose? Life's tough, when I lose $25k on poor investments, I don't get a redo and get that money back.

The southern Indiana bias is crazy almost all of the "nominations" are from the south
Bias here, bias in heartland duals and bias at state
I think there was some controversy in CP getting a team point taken away which cost us a trophy

Wyatt Krejsa bonus pointed everyone in the state leading into the state championship match. Hunter May had a very dominant season as well and held the match to a regular decision 13-6. I'd have to check the stats (it's been a long season) but I think Hunter May landing that headlock in the finals may have been the only offense points given up by Wyatt to an Indiana opponent this season. Wyatt had a hell of a year and put in so much work!!

I tell you what I just saw and no one has brought this up is the -1 point for unsportsmanlike conduct against both teams in the runner race.... CP on Friday night @ 285 for dropping his straps on the mat I never saw this on the broadcast and then against Coach Curry in the semi's @120 During the Jendreas /LaRocca match when a stall was called and Curry mentioned to the ref that he let them wrestle. He was hit with an unsportsmanlike. Considering there was a .5 point difference between their scores for Runner up at the end is just crazy.
