One off events like this or Who's #1 all have different weigh-in situations. I believe the Rudi's card the match is billed as being 145lbs. 
 
At Who's #1 some of the weights had kids makings scratch day before or with a little allowance. Some, like the futures match with Mendoza and Bassett were scratch weight and like 3 hours before the event. 
 
The people that organize the event are basically mediators with the parents/coaches/wrestlers on determining the weight restrictions.

Excuse my bias, but how can you not include 4x state champion Blake Maurer on this list?

The number wasn't just beaten, it was destroyed. Crown Point has a special special team. What they did was amazing. Records get broken. Mater Dei held it for almost 20 years. The depth and quality of Indiana wrestling seems to just keep getting better and from a fan's standpoint that's awesome. To see Jesse Mendez, Zeke Seltzer, Brody Baumann, Gabe Sollars and others go out and perform on the big stage was great. I can't wait to see what they do in college. The 2022 Crown Point team is the best ever, for now. That's nothing for Mater Dei to be upset about. Indiana wrestling is growing and getting better every year. We should all be happy about that. 

Was Gabe Sollars the first Wildcat ever to pin the field?

Please go ahead and tell me how much more we would have done at Team State and yesterday without Critchfield and May.

Now… I’m not saying anything bad about 220-285 weight class or it’s talent here. Carroll is in a different stratosphere here in Indiana. 
 
Already in rare air with his credentials coming into his Jr. year . Kid is ready for the next level (PLUS) world stage . To me he’s wasting a year if he stays here in Indiana . Idk, what I seen this year from him, he’s the Man wrestling boys here . That’s just what I see . 

Give me Crown Point in a clean sweep. Bet the Mater Dei guys couldn't even make weight anymore.

Is Carroll now joining to the man-child (beast mode) status of Paris, Chalfaunt, and Radnovich?  For IN fan sake let’s hope he doesn’t joint the Penn RTC a year early.  

Pretty impressive. 

4 Falls is a nice way to take a 2nd State Title.  Only wrestler to do it this year!


 

He’s been amazing to watch. Watched him since he was about 50 lbs.  It’s been an honor to watch him grow to what he is today. Bright future for sure

Seltzer is going to be a great fit at Missouri; he's done great in Indiana but still has a lot of growth left - Smith at Mizzou will get that out of him.

Young man is solid. I know it’s early, but he could  be another 4x’er in the making. 

Was about to say the same. He just looked so relaxed out there. Just oozing confidence. 

Is Levell related to the Levell family that was wrecking people in the 90s on the Decatur side of Indy.

Records are going to fall . They always do . 

Hate to come off like a broken record, as I mentioned this last week....  but I detest the idea that 3rd, 5th and 7th Place matches are so unimportant that they cut short the 1st period.  

it's not like this tournament has full wrestlebacks and time is at a major premium.  Let the damned kids wrestle a full match as if it means something!

I've sent support tickets to Flo about 7-8 times for Mat 3 today.  Sent 3 in a row during the Critchfield - Carroll match.  Finally it came on.  They must get tired of having to deal with multiple tickets for the same issue, which is simply someone at the table forgetting to UnMute their mic.  Ridiculous!

Critchfield  vs Carroll was a good match. Nate stuck it out for all six minutes.
