    Far from my first tournament. you think we were gonna see 600+ kids register across those 3 events in the last 48 hours? solid try though

    The idea of these qualifiers would be that each weight class qualifies 12 wrestlers making even 36 man brackets at state. Here’s the issue. There are some weight classes each year at state that have very low numbers. It cancels out when some of the more common weights have over 36 wrestlers. But what these qualifiers are going to do is severely lower the attendance at middle school state. The numbers currently signed up at each qualifier is laughable. When will we pull our heads out of our butts and just cancel these qualifiers and open middle school state up to everyone.

    Check out the numbers of these qualifiers. TOTAL FLOP!! and say one regional advances 12 kids. But another regional in the same weight only has 5 kids. And the third has 10! Then it’s not the full 32. #CANCELTHEQUALIFIERS #LETTHEMALLWRESTLE

    Coaches. If we do not want this qualifier it is simple, it is up to us to stand up and make our voices known on this. THERE IS NO REASON FOR A QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STATE!! My middle school team wrestles on Saturday before the qualifier, and now they have to make scratch weight 2 days in a row?!? That’s insane. All in favor of no qualifier say I. I

    Let’s talk about the coaching staff at CG Maurice Swain head coach hes got some of the best guys in the corner with him. Jamie Hays, Royce Deckard II,Josh Curry, Joel Flores, Brayden Littell. Not to mention a lot of other behind the scenes guys they have over there. Great team, great program, all guys with a lot of dedication to the program, can’t find a bad coach in the program. And it shows!

    Come tournament time I definitely think EMD and BB are top dogs and it sucks to see them in the same SS battling it out in possible ticket rounds or semi finals and so on. But I feel like a team that can really throw a few wrenches into their plans is that sneaky good CG squad

    Indians also had 1 female place 5th Anna Krejsa went 3-3 with wins over nationally ranked wrestlers like; # 16 Alyssa Mahan # 21 trinity howard and her losses only came from nationally ranked opponents #2 @ 122 Jennifer Soto #2 @ 127 Fargo champ Alexis Janiac #6 @ 127 savannah Witt 4-3

    At central regionals today out of ALL cadet and junior wrestlers there were ONLY 2 champions from The state of Indiana Drake Buchanan from Center grove Jacob Johnson of Franklin community. great job both guys! And great job to the realist county out there!

    With folkstyle state at a close what were some surprising outcomes people saw? Maybe non state qualifiers beating state qualifiers or placers. Who can we expect to maybe have a break out season next year!

    126lb champ had almost all bonus point wins , to include a first period fall in the finals.... only non bonus point win was against a state placer Joshua Johnson

    Here’s my take. NO CLASSES. as for wrestle backs, they should be as follows. sectionals, full wrestle backs to top 6 (just like they are now. ) regionals keep them the way they are. semi state. Full wrestle backs to 3/4 and 5/6 after at the ticket round. So single elimination round 1 then ticket round matches get to wrestle back for 3-6 and we find a true alternate. state, keep it the way it is. let you know your thoughts on that

    I think what makes me angry about this match is watch the punk from Anderson’s demeanor after he slams Alex. Walks off with a smirk and can be seen smiling and shrugging while Alex is laying on the mat. News flash slamming a kid in his head because your losing 10-3 isn’t cool. Rant over.

    Buchanan put him to his back a few times in this match. Total domination.

    But if you control every aspect of their warm up then how do they ever find what works for them? Maybe give them some guidelines or ideas. But total control over pre match warm up is a recipe for inconsistency on the mat.

    Okay coaches, please let me know your opinions on this. Do you allow your wrestlers to listen to music while they are warming up for a match? Yes or no? if no then why? I heard a story about a coach forbidding his wrestlers from having headphones while prepping for a match. the way I look at it is that music could be apart of a special pre match routine that makes the wrestler comfortable. I feel a wrestler should have total control over their pre match routine. You thought?
