I talked to him a bit at the Richmond regional. I actually wrestled with some cousins of his. I fanboy'd a little bit because I had some autographed Purdue posters from him when I was younger.

How many alternates does each regional weight class"send" to semistate? I know for sectional->regional, 5th and 6th place are 1st and 2nd alternates. Is it the same case for regional ->semistate, where first round loser to the champ is 1st alternate and first round louser to the runner up would be 2nd?

Dance from Greensburg goes from #4 at sectional to #1 at regional at 182.

As I understand it, if Penn had approved the transfer waiver, the IHSAA would never have had any reason to look into the matter. So them saying "nah" actually is at the crux of it. We had a sophomore student transfer from another school in our conference last year that hadn't even wrestled for them since Jr. High and he wasn't eligible until their AD signed off on it, which they did immediately.

That's how I understand it. Once you establish a seed, criteria resets and you go back to the top for everyone else.

He told us on Dec 5 that it wasn't going to happen this year either. I don't think their AD realizes how much it would help grow that tournament. -

Eventually, I'd like to go to big tens at every venue. I've only been when iu hosted. But that was to watch Ben Wissel at Purdue, so it's been a hot minute.
