Did they check ID and credit card?  What’s interesting is the app now has the pop up stating Will Call only  but yesterday it didn’t. We are stuck with 3 tickets all session as we thought no biggie we can sell or transfer. Now we can’t. Ughhhh

Yep, I’m sitting on 2 all session tickets that I can’t transfer to people who need them. Really convenient.

Got the digital tickets just now...the tickets I bought were in 116. Looks like these are the same row and seat #s in 117...

My all session tickets for section 117 have now been move to section 116. Still don’t have the digital ticket and says they must be picked up at will call. Also cannot transfer them.

Looking for a few Friday or all session tickets, if anyone happened to get extras!

I am sure some extra tickets will be coming available soon once fan bases have all of their people accounted for.  I may have 2 seats in section 117 for sessions 2 and 3 available if that helps any.  I should know within the hour if they are claimed or not.

got 6 but can't buy more

Isn't that awesome.... Of course the all session event glitched out showing several seats still available that aren't, which resulted in people buying random seats all over for session 2 and 3 individually.  Also, all session tickets will not allow transferring between people.  I'm glad I spent $268.30 on 6 tickets which I can not even distribute and must pick up at will call.

Again..... how can the IHSAA mess it up so bad.

The only tickets on sale Wednesday are for Friday or all session.    Therefore someone can't buy the seats for saturday that were bought yesterday .    Parents on Friday of kids that win can get Saturday tickets on Friday night at a discount.

If your kid loses, you can still get Saturday only tickets when they open up Friday night

If this is the case, parents are just supposed to wait in limbo until Friday night and if their kid loses hope they can get a remaining Saturday only ticket when they go on sale at who knows what time Friday night and be forced to buy them per session, costing them an extra ~$25 per person?

So this means there are 2 options of how this will play out...

    1. The general public can swoop in and buy these seats for sessions 2 and 3 on Wednesday

    2. Half of the parents (those that won on Friday) will be able to buy the same seats for sessions 2 and 3 on Saturday and the other half will not be able to. Those tickets will then go back for sale to the general public late Friday. The 2nd group of parents will then have to battle for those remaining tickets with stragglers who are buying session 2 and 3 tickets late Friday?

Just let the parents who want to buy all sessions buy them now.

Essentially there is no good possible outcome for half the parents.  As if having a kid wrestle at state isn't stressful enough, losing parents will be double punished and might not have a spot in The Ford Center on Saturday to watch.

    ·       Pre-sale codes are only able to be used to purchase Session I (Friday) tickets.

    ·       Friday (Session I) and All Session tickets (Sessions I, II and III) will go on sale for the general public on Wednesday, February 14th at 10am CT.

    ·       Each wrestler that is advancing from Friday to Saturday will receive a voucher to physically purchase two (2) Session II and Session III tickets at the box office on Friday. This voucher will include a discounted price for the two sessions ($15 for both Sessions combined).

This is part of a recent email distributed.

uhhhhhh..... if the seats are already sold on Wednesday to the general public for all session, session 2 and session 3, what seats are these magic vouchers going to be good for?

  8. What a flop by the IHSAA… “all session”, “session 2”, and “session 3” events not open for parents to buy seats like Ticketmaster said they would be. So now parents have to wait and compete in general public sale Wednesday in order to watch their kid wrestle on Saturday? This doesn’t seem like a difficult thing to get right, but then I remember we are dealing with the IHSAA 🙃

Seems like FW is going for the #4 ranking of semi states. Not a great first session for NE Indiana.

Fort Wayne drew Evansville 7/14 weights on Friday night including 2 of our stronger weights in 106 and 126. All things considered I think we are still going in the right direction.

That is what Faulkens has said, but I don't ever remember voting on such a thing.

    PS bring back the lanyards!

Word on the streets of Indy is that "the powers that be" have concluded that schools will try to take advantage of the lanyard system and load the floor with unnecessary coaches.

Also, it is apparently a rampant issue that these sneaky coaches whose athletes lose Friday night will use that lanyard from Friday to get on the floor Saturday to hang around and that is a MASSIVE PROBLEM.  So big of a problem that it is much more important to keep those scum bags off the floor rather than be sure assistant coaches have the chance to get to coach their kids.

EASY FIX:       1.   2 Coaching Lanyards for schools qualifying 1 kid.

                           2.   4 Coaching Lanyards for schools qualifying 2+ kids.

                           3.   Coaching Lanyards are different for Friday and Saturday.

How could they argue with that.  Schools can trade lanyards around throughout the coaching staff to get the desired coaches in the corners for their athletes, and athletes who are warming up are supervised (unless the instance occurs that a school has 2 athletes wrestling at once).  A school will never have more than 4 coaches on the floor at once.

    BRING BACK THE LANYARDS

Sigh....Not to mention if you have a 106 and 113. Or just 2 weights right next to each other. You have a guy warming up by himself while his other coaches are coaching the 106. Not saying that this is a huge deal to warm up by yourself, but it is another supervision issue. Remember when a kid was unsupervised at the state tournament, he was stripped of his medal. Now we are creating more scenarios for this to happen.

Also for example, you have a 152 and 285. Say you have a heavy weight coach for your 285, but he's not the 152 coach. He either has to coach that 152, or He's giving up his spot for another coach.

I think it is absurd that we are not trusted to have a floating pass between coaches.

Would be nice if we had 1 pass for the Head coach, and  floating pass(es) for the assistants.

ALL of the over complication is hurting the state tournament. It is not growing our sport. Coaches are getting frustrated, some may disappear from the sport...Not just for this reason, this is just some sprinkles on the icing of the cake.

Side Note: I am trying to stay positive for our kids. The state finals will be better than last year.

    BRING BACK THE LANYARDS!!!!

  12. 4 minutes ago, sslaymon said:

Are they not selling upper level tickets? Is that where they expect coaches and wrestlers, who didn't buy tickets for a seat, to sit when they aren't warming up/getting ready?

I am wondering the same thing. Where are they putting wrestlers from session 2 who are attending and watching teammates in session 1?

  13. 5 minutes ago, QuinnHarris said:

I only have 1 kids and I HATE the 2 sessions. The parade of champions split in half???

We ran 4 semi states with the same amount of kids in lesser venues.

    This is ridiculous!

Our 152 and 145 have been training hard with each other all season long, both make it to state, but will not get to experience everything together because they're in 2 different sessions. Our 152 will have to make the parade by himself instead of with his 2 teammates. Just an unjustifiable and illogical move by the IHSAA.

  14. 29 minutes ago, Coach Duncan said:

Exactly, again very frustrating.  Why are the higher ups making it so difficult??  When I called the IHSAA, Faulkens was in a meeting and the person that I spoke with said it SHOULD NOT READ THE WAY IT IS SHOWING UP ON TICKET MASTER, AND NOT SURE WHY????

Maybe if they had the event already created like they do with Basketball, these issues wouldn't be happening.  What a botch job by the IHSAA.  Leave it to them to find a way to mess up the greatest tournament many of these athletes and families will ever be a part of.

  15. 26 minutes ago, nkraus said:

Does this bother anybody else?  1-3 wrestlers per session gets you 2 wristbands unique to that session.

If you have multiple wrestlers in a session, but no more than 3 then you only get 2 wristbands.

So, lets say that the following athletes are all in the same session and prefer to be coached by:

Jimmy coached by : Josh and Mike

Jordy coached by:  Nick and Tyler

Johnny coached by: Tyler and Alex

That's 5 coaches listed, but only 2 bands available.

So we are saying that these assistant coaches who do work all year long, potentially cannot be a part of the most prestigious event.  It's not like they get paid a ton and they're away from their families for a few months out of the year.  Also, we are saying that even though Johnny is comfortable with these coaches and they've coached him all year long, he can only get these coaches today.  Sorry, we are going to do things differently once we get to state...ANYBODY else having this frustration?

I just can't find the upside to limiting the coaches who can coach (especially using wrist bands which makes it so only the same 2 coaches can coach through a session). Are they worried about income? We will pay for tickets for past two coaches.  Preventing a kid from having his desired coach during his match is like a football team making it to state but the receivers coach isn't aloud on the sideline to catch the receivers. IHSAA would never do that, why limit us on who is eligible to coach our athlete???

Change 1: Going back to lanyards so that we can change coaches on the floor between matches would be a big step in right direction, isn't asking for much from the IHSAA, and would probably make most coaching staffs happy.

Change 2: Give 4 coaching lanyards to teams qualifying 2 or more kids.  If a team only has 1 wrestler then having 2 wrestlers on the mat at the same time is a moot point, but otherwise give the coaching staffs the ability to always have 2 coaches in a corner. This stupid rule of having to have 4+ qualifiers to get 4 coaches instead of 3 makes no sense. It is an advantage to have 2 coaches in a corner and we should never be forced into only having 1 coach while competing against another wrestler with 2 coaches in their corner in the most important tournament of the season...
