  1. Would be interesting to see if one of them dodges the other.
  2. I'm not sure what weight Kargnes will be going but somebody told be he got real big. Possibly 145 big. Evansville Central got second last year. However, they loose champion Pace (220), HWT Hoehl (3rd), and Mandel at 160 who didn't make it out. Besides that they have a SQ, a state placer, 3 SSQ, and a couple Regional qualifiers coming back. I would think they would not get blown out by Gibson Southern by any mean. Can never underestimate the power of those 2 coaches though. It'll be interesting.
  3. Flo has Perry at #25 in the country and Cathedral on the considered list! Great recognition!
  4. Registration is almost full. We have a good hand full of kids going to Iowa November 3rd. Cadet: Colton Cummings 106 RWA Kory Cavanaugh 106 Penn WC Will Egli 106 MCWC Zachary Pardus 106 Hobart Wrestling Club Andrew Negangard 120 East Central High School Brendan Black 120 RWA Steven Muthart 120 Culver Academies Cael McCormick 126 Yorktown Jarod Swank 132 Penn WC Stosh Sitkowski 145 RWA Andrew Davison 160 Duneland Wrestling Club Jake Kleimola 170 RWA Blake Rypel 170 Fighting Irish WC Juniors: nick salatin 126 East Central High School Riley Akers 126 RWA Chayton Durham 132 Culver Academies Kyle Todrank 138 MCWC Randall Lynch 138 New Albany Aaron Madison 145 Boiler Elite Brendon Kelley 152 Evansville Central Cory Troutman 152 Pride Max Dole 170 Golden Cross Paul Foersch 170 Culver Academies Tyler Scott 195 RWA Collin Pepper HWT Culver Academies
  5. Great magazine. Couple things as far as wrestlers and their weights though: Nick Lee is going 126 Josh Pierre is going 145 Josh Davis is going 132 Cael McCormick is going 120, 126 I hear.
  6. I think Perry gets the job done again. EMD will have Lee being top 3 at 126. Egli placing at least at 106. They have a couple solid returners. Hopefully Pierre breaks the curse and gets on the podium this year, which i think he will do. Blake Jourdan will be somewhere in the mix, depends on how good he has gotten. Perry is the favorite. I mean James is striving for a title, Lecount will get another one without a doubt, and who knows who else. They are just gonna e so solid everywhere. Wish I knew more. Cathedral will be the team to upset Perry if it happens I believe. Vinny going for that title, 160 or 152 though? I saw he will be 157 at Rutgers. Wes at HWT. Rypel (sp?) at 170 maybe, top 4 IMO. Just another team that will be solid everywhere. I'm sure I'm forgetting people from these teams but these are my top 3. I think it'll end up being 1. PM, 2. Cathedral, 3. EMD
  7. If Petrig and Weinzappel (spelling) both go 152. We could see a lot of good matches between them throughout the year.
  8. It should go a little closer to 113 1. DJ Smith 2. Hudkins 3. Ferguson 4. Brown 120 1. Bailey Lahue 2. Elliot Molloy 3. Nathan Schitter IMO this will be a little closer. That's still assuming DJ will be 113 instead of 120. Which could happen either way I believe. Also, I think Devin Broukal will probably end up at 138 and Skyler Lykins may be 145. Just my predictions. Look for Ferguson to tear it up though. Especially after the show he put on at IHPO.
  9. albino gorilla with an indianamat singlet on and flip flops
  10. So of this list, who do you guys think could place?
  11. Others that have signed up: Tommy Cash Lawrence North 132 Drew Hughes Lowell 132 Ben Harvey Cathedral 138 Cody Lecount Perry Meridian 138 Kyle Jolas Huntington North 160 Randy Scott Mooresville 195
  12. We have a handful of kids already signed up. Registration for the public opens up Sunday. Brock Hudkins Danville 113 Joe Lee Mater Dei 113 Garrett Pepple East Noble 113 Chad Red New Palestine 113 Jake Sinkovics Mishawaka 113 Jacob Cottey Perry Meridian 120 DJ Smith Franklin Community 120 Brandon James Perry Meridian 126 Tommy Forte Mishawaka 145 Brendon Kelley Evansville Central 152 Jeff Dixon Hamilton Southeastern 195 Along with former Indiana wrestler, Hayden Lee, at 113 Who else would you guys like to see go?
  13. SIAC will have the most gaps from 1st to 2nd then it probably has before. Ferguson, Lee, Kelley, Kemper, Pierre, and Egli will all dominate at their weight as long as none of them end up in the same weight. I see a lot of tech falls and pins happening. Team wise, Mater Dei will win big most likely, if they can win last year by 40+ points or so. Then they shouldn't have too much of a problem this year.
  14. The change makes the sectionals so much more even. It used to be that in most weights, a #4 from Central Sectional could definitely compete with the #1 from the Castle Sectional. It's not like that anymore. MAJORITY of weights, you need to get top 2 in either sectional to get the draw you'd want going into Regionals. I think Castle Sectional will get the most through though.
  15. Tyler Fleener was pretty good. Besides his lose in the semi's to an Ohio stud, he had a solid tournament. Then he turned it on in the looser's bracket with all majors or pins to come back and get 3rd. Also, Kyle Jolas took a tough 1-0 loose and then knocked out Kenny Hughes to eventually get 3rd. Looked solid.
  16. Ferguson just put on a show, he was up 5-0 maybe even 6-0 on Sinkovics (*spelling) at one point if I'm not mistaken and then just rode his lead out to the end. If he would have kept it on him like I think he could have, no doubt in my mind he would have majored him. Watch out for this kid!
  17. 10 State Champs, something around 60 State Medals, and who knows how many national medals. Why aren't more indiana studs coming? We are even low on the state placers and qualifiers since it's in our state it seems.
  18. Rankings wise this is what I think: 106-Hildebrandt 113- Red 120- Hughes 126- Micic 132- James 138- Lykins 145- Lecount 152- Forte 160- Corsaro 170- Sopko? 182- McClosky 195- Thacker 220- Robinson HWT- Bernard Note* definitely not who I think wins state. I think 120, 132, 138, and 152 will be very interesting. Marci goes 145 or 160?
  19. Is it just me or will Indiana Gold versus Indiana Blue be one heck of a dual? Can see Blue winning many of these matches.
  20. What are some better tournaments in the Off season? I know a lot of Indiana kids don't travel that much. But what would be worth traveling to? FloNationals Philadelphia, Pennsylvania April 5-6 ISWA Folkstyle State Indianapolis, Indiana March 16-17 ASICS Nationals Cedar Falls, Iowa April 4-7 NHSCA Nationals Virginia Beach, Virginia April 3-7 Just a couple quick ones I looked up real quick, Please Add To This List.
  21. Can we get a running total of wrestlers who are signed up this year?
  22. 106:Micic (by 4) 113: Brooks (by 5) micic looked rough in finals 120: Petrov (by 5+) 126: Ayersman (by 1) 132: LeCount (by 1) 138: Jackson (Major) 145: Tsirtsis (Tech Fall) 152: Farrell (by 3) 160: Harvey (by 2) 170: Stevenson (by ?) 182: Lynde (by 3) 195: Sliga (by tech fall 220: Robinson (by 4) HWT: Winfield (by 1 in UTB) I have 5 for 2013 and 8 for 2012. 14th obviously being sliga vs. sliga
