I never said they would win 10 of the weight classes, I said its possible they could win 10, or more, I've learned over the years to never count out a Mater Dei kid. I agree that guys like Ferguson, Brown, Schnell, Kelley, Kemper, etc. all won't make it easy for any Mater Dei kid that has to wrestle them, but same can be said for guys like Johnson, Jourdan, Seng, Weinzapfel, Forzley, etc. They won't make it easy on those guys as well. It should definitely be a great SIAC tournament with a lot of good potential Semi-Finals and Finals matches.

I'm not sure what the most champions for a team are, but I'd say Mater Dei has a good shot at making a run for it...right now I see it shaking out something like this... 106 Egli MD 113 Ferguson R 120 Johnson MD/Brown Ca 126 Lee MD 132 Davis R/Jourdan MD 138 Seng MD/Schnell Ca 145 Pierre MD 152 Kelley Ce 160 Forzley MD/Kemper Ce 170 Kempf MD/Huelsing Me 182 Bassmier MD 195 Brown Me 220 Barnes Me/Butler MD 285 Kyles Ha I could see a possible 10 champs from Mater Dei.

I've heard Mater Dei wrestles Harrison at 6:00, then Union County after.

IF they were to bump and put in Schweizer, I think they would have to bump somebody out up top, someone like Kempf at 170. It would be hard to take out Lee, Jourdan, Seng, Pierre, Weinzapfel, or Forzley. Mater Dei's depth down low with the capability to plug in Lehman and Schweizer makes them a very tough dual meet team and hard to game plan for.

What about Jasper vs Castle? I heard Castle won that on criteria 31-30...any individual results for this match rdrodd1 or anybody else????

I feel like each weight will have multiple solid wrestlers in it. Should be another great season of wrestling. Its hard to tell who the clear cut favorite is team wise. I would have to put my vote in for Memorial going into the season not knowing where everyone is. They have some solid wrestlers from top to bottom. Brockman, Arney, Williams, Petrig, Stotlar, Brown, Barnes are some that come to mind that return, and they always seem to have a solid body in each weight that will compete. Time will tell once teams start wrestling and lineups are available. Looking forward to it!!

Are you not at Boonville anymore Mat Medic? Some of your previous posts said you were Co-Head Coach?

Schnell is solid! I too would think Allen will go where Schnell doesn't. If they do end up in the same weight class I would have to go with Schnell.

I feel like Central could do some damage, I feel like they would have to be the team considered for 2nd. They return Kelley and Kemper who should win there weight class, along with some solid guys in McCormick, Dixon, Smith etc that could make some noise. Gibson Southern will also be tough with who they bring back and also getting Todrank from what I hear.

Any thoughts on this Sectional? Should Mater Dei run away with it?
