So he's healthy enough to wrestle Cohlton Schultz to a 3-2 match, but not healthy enough to beat Evan Ellis? 

I'm obviously partial to Gelen being the best. I know history will show he is a 2 time champ, with a 3rd place finish, anyone who witnessed his semi-final loss to Kral could argue he could easily be a 3 time champion if not for a compelling argument from Coach Vlink and the lack of a lumbar vertebrate from the gentlemen in black and white, but I digress. The 7-2 and 9-3 scores are not really indicative of the actual matches either.  Fletcher Miller had a good game plan in my opinion, trying to keep the score low and hope for an error to capitalize on because he wasn't out wrestling Gelen. This defensive style didn't allow Gelen to open up, thus keeping the scores relatively low. During his 3 year run at state, I believe Gelen only gave up 2 TD, one in the match with Kral which was on a lat drop attempt that went bad and then to the Faulkenburg kid. Gelen also didn't start wrestling until 7th grade, so his learning curve was expedited and really showed how much of a freak athlete he was.  Mason is an awesome wrestler in his own right, I'd hate to speculate who'd win between the two because I'd obviously be choosing with my heart and not my head. 

Chris Davis (Floyd Central) was one of the officials at the HHC tournament this weekend. He is an outstanding official.  Very decisive with his calls, knows the rules, controls the wrestlers, table help and keeps the match moving.  We travel a lot with our schedule and see officials from all corners of the state.  In my opinion, he is already one of the best out there, and I believe he is a first year official.  He is a great addition to southern Indiana officiating.
 
 

I'm curious why you have two different names and trying to have a conversation with yourself.

Mater Dei vs. Crown Point 2011 Team State - MD comes in as the big underdog and pulls off the upset. Great atmosphere
 
Mater Dei vs. Penn in the semifinals at IHSWCA Team State Duals 2014. MD wins weight lowest 7 weight classes, Penn wins the upper 7, with MD pulling out the win with more bonus points. I believe the final was 25-22.
 
Two of my favorites, but I had a son on both of those MD teams so I'm a little biased.

145 no question.  The match had lots of great action by both wrestlers.  I thought both really looked to score.  In the 120 match I thought one wrestler was pushing the action the entire match while the other was mainly blocking and being defensive.  The semis at 182 and 138 were very exciting as well.  Hats off to Mason Parris and Joe Lee for really bringing it as freshman.
 
As always, a great weekend.

I don't care what anyone else is ranked.  Nick is "on another level" and "going to make some noise".  He will NOT lose and really won't be tested.  

Luigs, Egli, Johnson, Lee, Lee, and Jourdan should all place very high at Banker's Life.  Seems like they always get a couple of their lesser known kids to qualify and maybe place as well.  Somebody like Bassemier and Forzley could do that this year.

 
I know I'm not impressed either.  MD barely beat Perry and they are far from impressive.  MD can't even crack the top 25 nationally (they are at 29).
