Aiden Carver 12U 70 pounder is going make some noise!! Kid is one of the most dedicated kids I've ever had the pleasure of coaching.. When a kid wants to bump up weights and age divisions after winning his own just to humble himself and get experience, I can't do anything else but respect it.. Regardless if ppl think he's wrestling too many matches a year, he's healthy, happy and Eager.. Can't wait to see how the rest of Indianas own performs, good luck and safe travels everyone!

    Are Jeremy and Aiden related?

  2. He just threw an idea out there as something to think about and maybe comment on.  He obviously doesn’t have all the details fleshed out. Forgetting a team or two on a quickly drawn up  proposal doesn’t seem like a big deal, but I think pointing out lapses would be welcome.  I don’t think he meant to offend anyone.   Feel free to add some possible meat  on the bones if you care to.

This blueandgold guy keeps throwing out topics to think about and possibly comment on during a time when the board is mostly dead except for RTC announcements and the like.  At least he’s trying to keep the comment board active.

How does this affect high school eligibility?  Lots of top tier Indiana kids, compete for a different high school then they do for middle school, how would IHSAA handle eligibly,? Would your freshman eligibility be based off where you competed in 7/8th grade?

How would the IHSAA handle it?  Obviously, they wouldn’t handle it.  I don’t think the IHSAA would ever even consider it.  Our IHSAA sees their mission to be a lot different than some other states’ organizations.

  4. Showing my age …

When I wrestled we were allowed 12 dual meets plus 2 Saturday tournaments (county and conference in our case). That was just a bit before the advent of multi-team duals.  My cousin wrestled just a few years before me and I think he had 10 duals and no tournaments before sectionals.

My how things have changed.  😀

  5. The Star used to name the area “super teams” for all sports.

I’m not sure what they do now.  I had to give it up a few years ago. I got a new carrier and they never put the paper in my paper box or in my yard.  Instead it always ended up in one of my neighbor’s yard or in the road or across the street.  I had to search for it every day.  I called the office several times to try to straighten it out but to no avail.  And then they raised my rate.  I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle anymore.  😀

  6. I think I’d go with Howe even though he only won 3 state titles.  He was very dominating on those 3 seasons.  His one loss was to a kid who was in the process of winning his third state title.  And I think his NCAA credentials were pretty impressive, too.  My recollection was something like 2, 1, 2, 3 … but I’m sure someone with better recollection will correct me.

    1. That is a common exclamation, not meant to take the Lord's name in vain. Also, are you assuming the commentator wasn't Christian? Could be Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist etc.

    2. Is a commentators job not to comment on action? If there is a questionable call shouldn't they be able to say so? What kind of authoritarian structure do you want in place that can't question authority?

First of all, it is absolutely taking the Lord’s name in vain, common or not.  But those weren’t the only inappropriate words I heard from commentators while I listened at home.  As an example, I heard S__ o_ B____ multiple times.
