Just spit balling, but if some of the intent of the question was to discuss which area has the most depth then I would say total state placers over the last 5 years may be a more telling statistic to look at.  That involves a little more statistical analysis though.

Interesting... Seems like with the exception of 2011, when Evansville dominated every other semi-state, Fort Wayne has been a better semi-state than E-ville in terms of state champions over the past five years.  I agree that total state placers would be a somewhat better measure though.  Who's got time on their hands?

Merillville has had 117 placers in the last four years. That's out of 448. A little over 25%

 

If this is correct that would mean that half of the state qualifiers from the merrillville semistate placed. That is pretty good I would guess because only 4 can place in each weight class. Correct me if I am wrong. Not a math major.
