base
Just for fun here -- Let's say all the head wrestling coaches in Indiana get to Conseco a day early. There is a single mat under the scoreboard, the lights in the arena are dimmed, with only the single light illuminating the wrestling surface. This brings a tear to many of their old eyes, longing for the glory days. Finally, someone decides that it would be a GREAT idea for them all to strap on the old Asics, SQUEEEEEZE into an old moth-eaten singlet, and have a tournament amongst themselves before all the fans show up. They divide themselves up into these 6 divisions: Young PEEWEE Young MIDWEIGHT Young BUBBA (X-LARGE) Old-Timer PEEWEE Old-Timer MIDWEIGHT Old-Timer BUBBA OLD-TIMER = 25+ years out of high school (1985 graduation) Who comes out victorious? Who runs out of gas after about 28 seconds of "go-time"? Who runs out of gas while trying to tie their shoes? Is there a supply of IcyHot and Advil large enough to possibly meet the demand?? Sidenote: although Y2 lobbies for a small school division, he is thrown into the scrum with the rest of the coaches -- sorry Y2!! ;D
base
I'll throw a couple of possible winners out there: Young PEEWEE - Chad Red (Lawrence Central) Young PEEWEE - Lance Ellis (Roncalli) Young BUBBA - Trent McCormick (Yorktown) - (sorry Trent but can't classify you as midweight)
munges
What would the dividing line be between young and old timer? Would Brent Faurote with 20+ years be in the same category as Barry Humble? Or would you throw out an over the hill class that TAE could officiate. On the young peewee I would throw out R. Pursley from Homestead.
base
How about OLD-TIMER = 25+ years out of high school (1985)
Ahawkeye
I think I'd have to put Lance Ellis in the middle weight class also I'd give Greg Schafer a pretty nice seed in the pee wee young division. And maybe the all around light weight title. ;D
