  1. They may actually have more snow in your home land, Crown Point, than you have up there, and this morning it's a blustery minus 4 in the region! Back on topic... I flipped the disk for the captains at the start of the match and when I asked the team that won the toss to choose odd or even, they deferred. I advised him that he could not defer, so he chose neutral ???
  2. The Portage Team Regional is scheduled to go tonight, Thursday, at 6PM CST first round start. Crown Point vs Merrillville and Munster vs Portage in the first round
  3. As of now Portage is rescheduled for Thursday night. If that doesn't work, they are planning on the following Monday, February 7, 6PM CST
  4. Didn't they wrestle at the Calumet Traicoff on December 11? What was the outcome there?
  5. The west side of Valpo (where I live) is still in the region... the east side is considered a suburb of Laporte County
  6. Still haven't seen a line score and since nobody has posted I figured this is the next best thing... http://www.courierpress.com/news/2011/jan/29/mater-dei-wins-35th-straight-title-cats-move-on/
  7. They are predicting 24"-36" in the region by Wednesday. Yikes!
  8. She is attending Culver Academy, and they participate in the Plymouth sectional
  9. Kevin King, Bloomington South.... Individual championships in Wrestling and Track (Discus), I think???
  10. Keep up the good work coach... your kids are prospering from your efforts
  11. I will email you a list of what I have, Nick. Good luck at Indiana Tech!
  12. Well said fellows! On a side note, Coach Poynter is also one of the best young officials in the state now, and I'm predicting you'll see him on the mat at Conseco on several occaisons in the future if he sticks with it and doesn't go back in to coaching (hint, hint) ;D
  13. I believe the seed meeting is tonight, immediately following the Laporte @ Portage dual meet.
  14. I believe Roger is also a member of the Lake County SWAT team. He stops by the Hanover Central room from time to time. Former Hanover Central state champ Greg Larson is also working locally and has a couple of boys in their elementary program.
  15. Coach Poynter runs the MS and Elementary programs and has a strong group of young kids. He's a vital part of the process and does a fantastic job with the young kids I don't believet hat he left Highland in an effort to turn around the program. I believe he left Highland and took a teaching job at Boone Grove because his sons attend the school and participate in sports, as well as the fact that it's a 5 minute drive (rather than the previous 45 minute drive) from his home.
  16. Little known fact, but Karling's Black Label is prescribed world wide as a cure for the Hungus Fungus....
  17. I believe he sang the National Anthem at Team State last year as well... nice dude!
  18. I believe John Boes is living in Haubstadt, Indiana (Gibson Southern school district) and working locally in heavy equipment/construction for the coal mine. He helps out in their elementary and middle school school programs as well. He has a son wrestling in their elementary program... wonder if he can throw yet Last I heard Jason Greer was a Carmel police officer, but that's been a few years back. I believe he took a Federal job with either the FBI or DEA after that and is somewhere west of the Mississippi DJ Radnovich is a Tulsa police officer and a member of their SWAT team. He is also in the US Military Reserves and is getting ready to be deployed to Afghanistan. Good luck DJ!
  19. Let's enjoy it for what it was... the region's two premier teams and two of the top coaches around. It was nice to get to watch one of these from the bleachers for once. Any idea on attendance? Not as many as I would have thought, but then Wednesday is a busy night in the region with all of the other Duneland and NCC teams in action. Might have helped to move this one to a Tuesday or Thursday so that everybody could enjoy!
  20. I'll be at Schoops on Main Street with a few other officials around 5PM
  21. I would beg to differ... I worked the Mater Dei Holiday Tournament, and I think they and Crown Point match up very well. I'd think it would go 7-7
