  3. They didn't have just 7 wrestlers compete. If anything, it shows that they were beaten up on saturday. without seeing the kids wrestle, don't judge our sectional. we are a younger sectional with talent constantly coming up.
  4. the only real problem I see with the other brackets is in the 189 class. Shoffner has beat the Monroe kid twice. just say that Monroe wins, the last match between Monroe and Smith was only a 3-1 match. Monroe might just beat him this time, but that says he gets there first
  5. 103: Lloyd, Salter, Miller, Nelson 112: Pence, Smith, Querry, Cowgill 119: Arenas, Miller, Staggs, Benedict 125: Workman, Flores, Britten, Jones 130: Hinkle, Ketring, Alexander, Kidwell 135: Elrod, Braden, Johnson, Evans 140: Shepherd, Miller, Fording, Wallace 145: Goodnight, Hetzner, Williams, Cunningham 152: Lenehan, Turner, Heady, Williams 160: Love, Butler, Harvey, Poe 171: Bratcher, Wiechman, Mayo, Newton 189: Smith, Shoffner, Duke, Elliot 215: Harper, Colby, Starnes, Harvey HWT: Penning, Maine, Vanmeter, Woolums
  6. I think it will be between either Marion, Eastern, or Kokomo. if any teams slip up, Western has an outside chance but it's an outside one.
  7. after the pleasure of being one of the coaches in Preston's corner this summer up in Michigan. I can assure that he will win this sectional. the other kids might be descent wrestlers but hard work and off season wrestling pays off
  8. I would say Kokomo is the favorite in the Oak Hill sectional. most of thier kids have been wrestling all summer and they are buying into what Wells is saying. Huntington North was suppose to topple Peru last year, so say that side is a toss up. One of the teams from the Lafayette sectional will most likely win this Regional
  9. I'm not bashing the kid, family, or the wrestling program. but for a someone to bash the Shepherd name because they are associated with Western is redicules. And no I am not a Shepherd. I really don't care who you are. I posted on a previous comment of about kids staying at their school throughout their entire carreer. So obviously my facts are straight. Tanner Lynde and his family did move to the Delphi and I didn't give a reason because I didn't know the reason. All I stated was that his dad gave up a coaching position. I know the family is an outdoors family and they hang out with many of my Delphi friends. Tanner Lynde would have been succesful anywhere he wrestled but a room with multiple wrestling partners is sure attractive.
  10. Atwood has been a Delphi kid forever, but Lynde is a different story. Wasn't his dad a coach at Rossville. did he move to Delphi for a better opportunity for his kid. nothing agianist the family or program, but parents what the best for the kids no matter what it is. loyality and honor really isn't in the modern day language. sorry to burst ur bubble
  11. are all the details finalized. if so could u email the info
  12. is this event for single wrestlers or is it a team event? is it affiliate with any organization?
  13. I say you go about 45 minuts north of Indy to Kokomo. Western High School is a Four star school and has an up and coming wrestling program. We would love to add another talented student
  14. it's your choice and everybody made some valid points, but my only regret in life was not trying. i feel as though I was good enough to make it. you only life once. "life is not a rehersal, you only get one chance, so give it your best shot."
  15. Harp wanted to teach more than anything. All BC would do is give him the attendence officer job. Being a teacher pays much more than being an attendence officer. If BC would have offered him a teaching job, I believe he would still be there. BC athletics really could care less about wrestling, while Penn is the other way around.
  16. you could make an amazing all-star team with the people that help at Western. We will make some noise in the next couple of years. look for Chad Shepard to make some high impact pins on his way to winning the PEEWEE Middle Weight title. go get them tiger
  17. I think the Peru regional vote should have gone to the Southwood or Huntington North coach. Both schools represented themselves well at regionals and semi-state. Eastern would have had a stronger team at regionals and semistate if they had not won sectionals and had to compete at Team Regionals. Either way I don't feel as Peru's coaches deserved this either. Some of the coaches should think about their votes a little harder next year
  18. 103: petrov 112: ayersman 119: lovejoy 125: wright 130:tsirtsis 135: norton 140: brady 145: roach or robinson; should be the finals match in the semis 152: Lynde 160: mccray or mcmurray; should be the finals match in the semis 171: bratcher or duckworth; should be the finals match in the semis 189: atwood 215: cleveland HWT: travis
  19. as a wrestler who has competed at Merriville and coached kids there, I would say that place is a meat grinder. This was my first year at the FW SS, and I was really impressed. People say that it is a weak SS, but to be honest I think that the top 3 from each weight class could compete at any SS. The rankings might tell another story, but at this point in the season rankings really don't matter. This past weekend was the most fun I have ever had at a SS. The colliseum was spread out and not cramped, and was set up like the state finals. for anyone who has never seen the place, it is definately something every Indiana High School wrestling indivdiual should see at least once. Most of all, after the pigtails and the first round, some of the most competitive wrestling had taken place. Thank you to the hosts, the officals, the coaches, and most of all the wrestlers for a exciting day of wrestling.
  20. I agree. Green will win the semi-state. everybody says he does nothing and is just defense. you guys must not have been at sectionals and regionals. two big high crotches are not really defensive moves the last time I checked.
  21. how many of them would have made it if their regional would have been postponed though. maybe 9 or maybe less.
  22. Yet agian. They are predictions. Whether bias or not, they are. Shepherd also hadn't wrestled in a month before sectionals, so if I had to guess, that played a difference. If you think I'm wrong, lets see your picks. And HWT, I think a little eagernest caught Trevor. A different mind frame will help him this weekend. I would rather lose at sectionals and win at regionals, thats a little more important.
  23. hey. they are just predictions based on what I saw last weekend and over the past couple of weeks. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, even you. So if you think you have a better prediction, lets see um.
  24. and the 5th place wrestler from the same sectional will move into the 4th seed spot to replace to wrestlers.
