    Some "top squads" won't schedule smaller schools for various reasons. It never stopped us (Monrovia) from competing at the highest level though back in the day. While I would have always rather wrestled the best competition each and every time in place of pushover so to speak, that's not where you improve. You don't improve your skills, conditioning or mindset during a "6" minute match. You improve in the offseason, in practice, and on your own.

    Actually mine has done more good than harm. There is a lot of "respect" that goes out to the brotherhood that is the wrestling community upon seeing the ears. It may sound silly to some, but it's a fact. I was never required to wear them nationally (other than the high school nationals) or internationally, so didn't feel the need to wear them if it was up to me.

    We didn't use to have to wear them in freestyle or Greco back in the day. I never wore it in high school practice either. It was actually "in the way" during a match.

    I should have stated, ONLY. Meaning one team state champion overall.

    State Team Champions as determined like they were in the early 1990's. Never a classed tournament. I can see wrestle backs to 3rd place, not beyond.

    At the "Age group" world championships back in the early 90's we weighed in, naked, in the same gymnasium we were participating in Hungary. Yes, the spectators were in the stands and thought nothing of it.

    With the backing of a Mr. Aaron Dowden, or should I say persuasion... Singlets... Does anyone have or know of a singlet that is aqua blue w/pink border, with a distinct pink broken heart on the butt? It would be really worn down by this point.
