  1. schitter did not wrestle against Southridge
  2. All teams will get an additional two pounds tomorrow. BNL did not practice yesterday and can't practice today. Good Luck to all teams!!
  3. At one time, Heritage Hills was in the Old Capitol Classic but they dropped out of it about 2 or 3 years ago. They are not it it this year.
  4. I've owned two grey shirts for four years and I finally can wear them. This is great news!!!!
  5. I have a seeding question. 8 man bracket. 3 wrestlers, 2 FF and 3 Byes. Can the 2 FF be on the same side or do they have to be opposite? thanks
  6. I had this scenerio come up last night but made sure the coach was aware of it at weigh-ins. The kid step on the scale for 182 and he weighed 172.0, I told the coach that he could only wrestle 182 tonight. The coach said thanks for telling me this. As an official, you might not beable to police it at the scores table when they check in, but you can do it at weigh-ins.
  7. Southridge Team Regional is wrestling tonight. The start is 6:30 EST
  8. The Southridge Team Regional is on for tonight...just confirmed it with Brett Bardwell, AD , at Southridge. Wrestling starts at 6:30 EST (5:30 CST).
  9. I'm showing weigh-ins are 10 AM CST and wrestle at 11 on Wednesday. 8AM weigh-ins on Thursday and wrestle at 9AM.
  10. Tom, We changed that rule for this tournament...the new ref buys the first two rounds after wrestling on Friday night... I'm wondering who that could be? ??? ??? ???
  11. Welcome back Anthony! You need to get your referee license so you can ref on the weekends you come back home. we are always looking for officials!
  12. Carrer 121, did you talk to the ref after the match? How can you say " As for the call the ref is suposed to be in front of the wrestlers to signal when he has rewarded them with a takedown. the ref who is not a bad ref was reminded of that after the match. The Fanklin kid did a double leg blast from the starting position... how can you get infront of 430 pounds. The rule book nevers says you need to be infront of the action. It says you need to be in position to call the match. The Ref went with the action and called a takedown as soon as the Knura had control. It was a good call. I heard the takedown call from the scoretable. Knura never unlocked his hands after the awarding of the takedown. He still had them locked when the horn went off. As I was setting at the scorestable the ref was never reminded after the match about being in front of them. I remember two people coming up to him. One was Bobby Cox and the other was an old time ref and both of them told him that he made that right call. The assistant ref said he was ready to call lock hands too but the ref called it a second before he did. Rules are rules. It doesn't matter if it is 1 minute into the match or 2 seconds left on the clock. If you don't want him to call the lock hands then he should not call the takedown with 4 seconds to go in the match. You can not get one call your way and not expect the other call to be made against you. How do you know that the Mish. wrestler would not have gotten away if Knura did not have his hands locked around both legs. Another ref overheard Knura tell his coach that he thought he had 5 second to release his hands after a takedown.
  13. I have read a lot of post that said the wrestlers were out of bounds when Keith got the takedown. According to the rules, both wrestlers have to have a supporting part out of bounds before calling it out of bounds. When the take down was secured, the Mish. wrestler hands were out of bounds but his knees where in and Keith was total in bounds. So actually, neither wrestler was out of bounds. I was working the score table and I heard the official say two takedown so Keith should have heard him award the takedown. I also remember the referee point to the lock hands as the clock was running out and he showed the lock hands before the horn went off.
  14. Chuck, Congratulations and well deserved. You do a lot for our sport!
  15. I had to update my post since the the Tournament Director gave me the wrong time for the Jeffersonvile Regional. Here are the correct times for weigh-ins. Weigh-ins at 10 and wrestle at 11.
  16. This was a great dual meet. Both teams wrestled hard and Castle step it up a level and found a way to win. This was a great team effort. Good Luck at Team Sate. The only disappointment on the Castle side was the Lady being escorted out of the gym for spitting in a MD matmaid. There were no charges filed. This information came from Jasper AD this morning. Also, this was the lady that attack Andy Chandler (Captain of the Evansville Police Department) after the individual regional last year. Good luck to all wrestler in the individual regionals.
  17. I can't believe they are making this call this early. Not one flake has hit the ground and they are only expecting 1-2 inches of snow for evansville. They should wait until the morning to make this decision. It not like teams have to drive 2 hours for the sectional. I just received the call from Evansville with the same news!!
  18. Sandwith beat Price last week in a dual meet. This gives the top seed to Sandwith.
  19. I think there is three questions that need to be ask. What does his weight mangement plan say he can wrestle on Saturday? What was his weight at the last wrestling meet? What does his weight management plan say he can lose each week (1.5%). For example...If his weight management plan says he can weigh 128.8. His last meet he weighed in at 134 and his weight management plan says he can lose 2.5 pounds per week...than he can wrestle 130 (132). This happen a lot...kids droping weight class or classes. I don't think MT. Vernon is doing anything wrong. Good Luck at the Big 8 conference!
