  1. Congrats to Indiana Tech on a great showing! On a side note Lindsey Wilson's # 2 ranked 149 pounder and Indiana Native Charlie Pingleton did not compete their #3 ranked 184 pounder Ian Stephens also did not compete. And from my understanding their 165 174 and 184 were all wrestling up weight classes for today's dual. Either way it was great wrestling from a first year program.
  2. Is their a website for Indiana Wrestling records? on the old site they had the Matburns link but it does not work anymore.....
  3. Thats what i was thinking... they would get burn out pretty quick..... they kid i was referring to had 65 matches this season and that would equate to 455 high school matches which is INSANE not even counting freestyle
  4. I ran across an article on the mat.com and it said that a 6th grader from Florida placed 5th at state High School state... He ended the Season with over 60 wins. I know in Indiana middle schoolers cannot compete in high school but why not? It would help fill some small schools rosters... Whats your take?
  5. how many 103 champs as freshman turn out to be 4x champs.... my guess is not too many.... Once Phillips moves up and wrestles a real weight class he will see what real comp. is like. ex. Raley dominated everyone at 103 last year as a freshman and bumped up to 119 and was an SQ...
  6. Runyan has been wrestling a college style for the last 4 years... he is excellent on top and bottom. He is going to a prep school for a year which will help him refine his skills.... He will have the best D1 Career. Sandefur will most likely go on to be a DII AA and possibly champ someday
  7. Dexter would dominate him.... Chalfant is 230 and a good wrestler Dexter was 270 and a Great wrestler... no offense to Chalfant but the Heavy weight competition has been down for the last couple years..
  8. I think Runyan would beat Duckworth and i also think that Duckworth would beat Shrewsbury
  9. Didnt MD have someone in the finals in 5-6 straight weights with 4-5 champs in a row
  10. Hawkins won.... should have never went into OT because Hawkins took him down twice in the 3rd period but the ref would not call it. People were booing when Kieffer escaped in OT and ran away but never faced his opponent so no escape and they never gave him the point, and if you were to argue it was an escape... then Hawkins took him back down. Flatout Hawkins won.. Congrats to both competitors on a good match
  11. HOWE IS A BEAST!!!!!!!!!! Beats the #2 guy in the nation 3-2
  12. Im pretty sure this is correct.... 4 Indivdual championships in wrestling.... 3 Team state championships 1 football championship and 1 football runner up.. 9 rings in all
  13. I think Runyan wore the same one last year in the finals not sure though...
  14. It kind of sucks that they when the worst team in the regional.... SIUE leaves this regional picks of one of the best schools with the addition of Nebraska Omaha
  15. I am not sure if it is like this in other state as well but it seems as though the IHSAA does not particularly care for wrestling, and they are only worried about Football and Basketball. I have spoke with both Blake Ress and Bobby Cox in the past due to a situation I was in, and they seemed like it was none of their business, and they weren't going to waste their time talking about it and that wrestling was not an important issue to them.
  16. Jake Wimsett Rockville 285 (26-17) I think got 4th at regionals and then 4th at semi state, he was also down like 8pts at semi state and pulled out a pin to go to state.
  17. Same thing happened to Cooper of Whiteland... lost to state runner up Hasseman at regionals... and he drew Mauer Mater Dei in the round to go... He Beat the kid that got 3rd at state that year 12-3. Next year lost an OT match at regionals and luckily drew Orrin Klienhenz in the round to go.. .losing 6-5 while Orrin went on to win a state title beating his kid in the finals by like 8. Wrestlebacks are definately needed but i think that time is a major issue becuase semi states run so long as it is.
  18. 103 CP4 112 CP 3 119 R 4 125 CP 3 130 R 3 135 CP 6 140 R 3 145 R 3 152 R 3 160 CP 6 171 CP 3 189 CP 5 215 CP 4 285 R 6 Roncalli 22 Crown Point 27 Keep in mind that this is best case scenario from Roncalli. They can make it look respectable against a great team in CP I think Dickey will be at 130 for Roncalli not 135
  19. How about Jeremy Valalstine from Center Grove HWT state champion 2001... He was a monster with the legs turning everyone in the state
  20. I agree... it wasnt close last year (7-3) but i think it will a great match this time around. The winner gets Eppert sounds fun
  21. Kolb Tri West... too bad he couldnt compete at semi state
  22. Do you really think he will pin his way to the Championship? I saw him beat a 215lbr 4-0 earlier this season, needless to say that 215lbr did not make it past the regional. I do think he will be the champ becuase he is a man beast, but he will have some close matches
  23. Top Half of 119 is insane.... could go to anybody State Runner up Kenny SQ Petrov Place winner Keiffer 3x placer Brooks State Champ Raley State Champ Eppert
  24. I was off on a lot of my picks becuase there were not too many dominate wrestlers here, but that being said this semi state may not have a ton of champs but there will be a ton of place winners at state. There are a few state champion possibilities still with Johns/Raley, Runyan, Wedding, White,
  25. What makes you think Harper wont lose? he has proven that he is not invincible, by losing 3 matches so far this season.
