Taking the middle weight out last year is going to hurt this team. Much deeper talent from 106-152 than up the top.

my brothers and i are the first generation, and all of us graduated in the 90's. dad played basketball in high school, but you better believe our sons will be the 2nd generation of wrestlers in our family.

It has been an odd year for the fans this year. It was packed for the Reitz meet, but they just aren't as rowdy as usual. Then last week at semi state, there was hardley anyone there for MD (compared to what it was 5 yrs ago). I guess when you are winning it brings more people in to watch. Although, in the 80's and early 90's before team state I remember the crowd would always follow MD even though they were not bringing home state titles. Hopefully this will change in the neat future.

Ya it was Williams, Hardy, and Schoeder (MD) that went 1-2-3 at regionals then 1-2-3 at semi state, and 1-2-4 at state.

I think when they are saying MD is having a down year they mean that only one senior is on varsity. Only about 4 seniors are even on the team. It seems weird to say that MD has more freshman on varsity than seniors. Take nothing away from Reitz, they have a ton of talent. They have had it for years. They came to wrestle last night. They out worked MD, they out hustled MD, and they had the desire to win. It will be a great match between Castle and Reitz this Saturday. The SIAC will be a great one to watch next saturday.

Wow. Reitz is ranked 13th and is only one of a handful of undefeated teams. They have 5 ranked wrestlers, and are looking tough. We will find out how good they are this Thursday when the wrestle at #2 MD, and #7 Castle Saturday.

MD is very young this year and are not as good in the lower weights. It all depends on where the match starts as well. There always seems to be one match that Reitz seems to lose that nobody ever expects. Could it be 19, 35, hvy? Hopefully after St Louis MD will be ready to bring it for Reitz. I think Reitz last beat MD in 1978.

It's hard to get a correct time in wrestling because of people not making weight, or medical clearance. Then the coaches must decide if they wnat to bump their line up around, or just scratch the kid. If that wrestler was seeded, then we bump people around in the brackets and so on. If a few people who are bracketed don't wrestle it takes time to redraw, and print bracket for the tourney. The MD classic always starts about 45 mins late on the first day for that very reason. The next day is always much smoother.

Fahy was dominating Kief before he pinned him. i thought Fahy was close to a tech fall when he pinned him, but i've slept several times since then. Is Ervin at 103 even allowed to wrestle since he is in 8th grade? Trinity and Franklin (combined to pick off MD wrestlers) may have enough to knock off MD this year. Trinity may get 4 champs and MD may only get 2. MD will have to make it up in the wrestle backs, or it could be the first time they have lost their own tournament. It will be a great two days of wrestling. -
We will get to see how good Merriville is when they wrestle MD at St. Louis. No doubt that will be a good test for both teams. #3 vs #4 - it may all come down to bonus points, and Merriville will pick some up.

MD won 47-9. MD lost at 112 and inj. default 189.

I wasn't able to make it this weekend and wanted to know what MD's lineup looks like and how they wrestled this weekend. How did they do against Father Ryan?

Appell is on the team, he just did'nt make varsity. Lannert is still wrestling at 119, and I think Maurer will be back soon (postitive thinking). As far as Adler, he will be missed, but think MD can fill his spot.

I believe they are wrestling on a Saturday and Sunday. Due to IHSAA rules MD can not compete in the tourney this year.

Harrison has Dylan Hall and Zach Wolf. North still has Drew Sulawski and Tony Mendoza. They are improving. Central had a good 130 from last year. I think Memorial will be 4th in the SIAC. They have Sandwith, Adams, and several other starters from last years team. Their 130 last year was tough until he had his concussion.
