  1. Caliboy189, Demoguy, WC182dad, man that guy was classic. Gotta admit he made this board lively!
  2. Y2 is dead on the mark here. I can see these wrestlebacks being completely lame, then the IHSAA punishing us by NEVER allowing real, useful wrestlebacks.
  3. The thing that bothers me is the Executive Committe that thinks the state tournament series is too long and grueling to have wrestlebacks, is now willing to take the time to allow wrestle backs for minimally consequential alternate. But they won't allow it to find the true placing of the tournament, even though it will take about the same amount of time Havent we always heard about the time factor involved in wrestlebacks? This quote is on the mark about wasting ALOT of time for very LITTLE! Absurd.
  4. Rassbach is a junior , not a soph. (113) How is Scott (Mooresville) 182 ranked in state, but not the semistate? Also at 182 how is Petrole ranked ahead of Ludwig in staate, but ranked behind in semistate? I know these rankings are daunting, just some noted discrepancies.
  5. Which Schoolcraft from Martinsville? Im thinking Joe, who should be a soph.
  6. Yeah Ervin is a STUD. Kentucky wrestling is not near as deep as Indiana, however the teams that show up at the Classic are extremely tough. Trinity always has some national caliber kids, UC always seems to have some Ervin boys, and St. X is tough.
  7. I've said it all season and also noticed it, 182 and 195 are very diluted. Remember most kids in both these weight classes wouldve only formed 1 weight class last year.
  8. Congrats to Kayla, but did anyone see the Indystar.com feature about Friday night? 12 pictures and ALL 12 of them were of Kayla. Like I said congrats to Kayla but there were 223 other wrestlers there last night.
  9. Have to agree, that weight class along with 195 is diluted by the weight class changes. Just think last year these guys would form 1 weight class with a few dropping to 171.
  10. Freestyle IS ridiculous. Push outs and stalling are the norm.
  11. Well Lynde prollywont be on this list after this coming weekend. He has gotta be the hands down favorite at 182. Very diluted weight class since the new weights came into effect this year.
  12. Recent history has got to be Atwood, Stevenson deserves mention also.
  13. Great post, especially the part at the end. If you aint first, you're last. This guy is a national caliber wrestler, who already has his college set (Big Ten). He is not here to place, he is here to win it. Friday night will be tough but he's going for it. I am sure Jrob wont penalize him if he doesnt succeed. Do you people actually think the 8 placers are the 8 best? Win it all
  14. Good points, all these drive me crazy. Especially the 1-2-2 format, never understood it.
  15. Avons 152 and 220 out. At least a backup weighed in at 152. Nobody at 220 for Avon.
  16. Batts = 1, Helm = 2, I'll take Helm. They did NOT wrestle at County.
  17. Noticed the brackets are released. Had a question, in the lower half pigtail match, the wrestler on the bottom has an asterisk by the name. Is there any significance to this? I realize the top 4 are seeded, cant figure what this would be. Any help?
  18. The teams that show up at Mater Dei from Kentucky usually have some studs. Look at Hitchings, Ervin, Fahy. These guys are legit. I just dont think Kentucky has the depth of Indiana. Also Isaac Ervin is at SIUE, dont know if he is a brother or cousin. He might be hurt or redshirting this year.
