  1. The second time was with one of the nastiest headlocks I've ever seen!
  2. Rickie Elkins is one that a lot of people forget about... Runner-up in 2000, ranked #1 in 2001 going into State... Up 4-2 first round at State and gets put to his back an pinned in the 2nd period by a very tough Curt Schleibaum I believe Elkins had a win over the runner-up that year (Jason Woodson) and then beat the Champ (Allen Weinzapfel) by 5 or 6 points at team state the next weekend
  3. Shannon Stout (Delta) Class of '94 1991 - 6th @ 135 1992 - 5th @145 1993 - 2nd @ 160 1994 - 3rd @ 160
  4. Same exact scenario happened in 2014 with Sawyer Miller and Conner Knapp at FW Semi-State... They wrestled for 3rd/4th the prior year and met in ticket round the next... Unreal draw for these guys as well!
  5. This exact same scenario happened some years back at Fort Wayne with Miller vs Knapp in the Ticket Round... That's a nasty draw!
  6. The three* that come to mind for me is: 2018 - 126lbs 2010 - 112lbs 2006 - 119lbs So many Champs, future champs, and multi-place winners in each weight class
  7. Where are those Delta Brackets AJ?
  8. Makes sense... I was just using 2008 (Maybe 2009) as the reference for the first year they added the 4th place regional finisher to the semi-state brackets... I kind of preferred it that way, because the 3rd place match at Regional had some pretty big stakes...
  9. Back then it would have been: 3 at Semi-State, as Regional Champs got a first round bye up until 2008 I believe
  10. Agreed... Never seen a person laying flat on their belly in a front headlock draw out a stall call... If I were the BB coach, they would've had to drag me out of there...
  11. Having issues with some drop downs in 138 & 145 Specifically 2nd thru 4th in 138 & 2nd & 3rd in 145
  12. Last year was Ft. Wayne's best showing in recent hisory, as far as Top 4 finishers go, including 4 champs and 3 runner-ups...
  13. The worst part is that a few of these guys could potentially meet Friday Night or Ticket Round at SS, with Garcia, Rooks, Mills, Willis, Egli, and Denny all coming out of Evansville
  14. My Top 4, in order: 106 Miller, Todd, Hutker, Lerr 113 Curtis, Zadylak, Rupp, Robinson 120 Mosser, Schliessman, Atkins, Tighe 126 Blackburn, Lawson, Curtis, Shaffer 132 Barr, Perry, Liter, Wills 138 Rutter, Fiechter, McCammon, Meiring 145 Hunt, Ruble, Mounsey, Young 152 Macklin, Heistand, Hemmelgarn, Beeks 160 Winner, Bates, Swanson, Metz 170 Friedt, Chapman, Bell, Prybylla 182 Abbott, Gray, Wright, Frasher 195 Pease, Lykins, Schaffer, Berlanga 220 Baumgartner, Hare, Schumm, Brown 285 Parsons, Baronick, Cueller, Hughes
  15. Jason Woodson (FT Wayne Snider) in 02.... Can't forget about him
  16. Just imagine how shallow FWSS would have looked if Delaware County schools drove 20 minutes to New Castle instead of 80 minutes to Fort Wayne... They have to put the cutoff somewhere I guess...
  17. The most memorable/biggest upset, of the first round, would have to be 2011 Fort Wayne Semi State: Carter Delaney, FT Wayne Dwenger, (28-10) pinned Josh Ehr, South Adams, (40-0) 14 seconds into the 2nd period with a nasty cradle I believe Ehr was ranked #2 in the State at the time and had a win that season over the eventual runner-up, Connor Mullins
  18. I'll take: Eliseus Young over Eli Elkins (145 @ Fort Wayne) Travis Miller over Gerald Pearson (113 @ Fort Wayne)
  19. Delta's first State Champ
  20. I'll get them started... Top 4, in order: 106 Curtis, Herring, Shearer, Flores 113 Watts, Beasley, Schoeff, Just 120 Wright, Mejia, Stephenson, Rushing 126 Gimson, Davis, Demarco, Bynam 132 Hunt, Mosser, Moore, Gimson 138 Hiestand, Hicks, Gutierrez, Macias 145 Rasler, Barr, Arney, Aguirre 152 Kerrn, Reed, Weimer, Bratcher 160 Laughlin, Busse, Levitz, Potter 170 Baumgartner, Goering, Rader, Hardcastle 182 Gray, Graber, Blakely, Nix 195 Eli, Hankenson, Herrera, Hart 220 Maddox, Hare, Kilgore, McKeever 285 Ellis, Lawson, Perkins, Ault
  21. Top 4, in order: 106 Curtis, Rupp, James, West 113 Miller, Todd, Mosser, Robinson 120 Stephenson, Liter, Perry, Lawson 126 Curtis, Fiechter, Sanders, Hale 132 Hunt, Mosser, Schliessman, Goodwin 138 Hiestand, Macklin, Gutierrez, Beeks 145 Barr, Winner, Mounsey, Leonard 152 Rutter, Leonard, Torbush, Laughlin 160 Laughlin, Busse, Hemmelgarn, Bell 170 Baumgartner, Pease, Hayden, Smith 182 Gray, Friedt, Chapman, Goodson 195 Hankenson, Baumgartner, Watson, Maxwell 220 Maddox, Hare, Brunner, Gerwig 285 Rhoades, Shaw, Dunn, Schoeneman
  22. Squeak out? Pretty sure he won 5-1, controlling most of the match... That's not what I would call squeaking out...
