Mike Goebel said on the draw show that Blake should be ready for Friday night.

And Only Goebel's Hair Dresser knows for sure...

After seeing the brackets, I wouldn't bet on any injured kid making it past Saturday morning in the 113 bracket.  That thing is LOADED.

I get it.  I never wrestled. Am a huge fan of the sport because of my son Baxter, the Hartz Bros and Castle Wrestling Club, Coach Harmon and Castle HS, Rob and Matt Deterd, and Maurer Coughlin and their club. Love all of those guys.

    My name’s Doug Annakin.

    And you guys are.......?

First off...I have a great deal of respect for your son and his accomplishments, I was truly sorry to hear he wasn't able to coninue, I can't imagine how hard that decision must have been - I doubt I could have done the prudent thing at that age.   Much respect for him.

As for who I am...Each one of the names you dropped knows who I am...I predate each and everyone of them on a Castle Wrestling Mat.   Yes I am literally that old.  Let's put it this way, I remember when Curt Welch wrestled for Boonville.

So here is the choice, you can either be the father of someone I respect as a Castle Wrestling Brother...Or a Troll on the Internet who has no personal point of reference when he talks smack about who will beat who...Purely up to you.

  3. As we approach what has to be one of the toughest days in all of sports in Indiana, let' aal ttke aa moment to recognize the efforts of the Coaches, Assistants, parents, and most of all the competitors who allow us the opportunity to witness their journeys.   Ladies and Gentleman, It is Wrestling Semi State Time!

Spoken like a true country boy BlueBolt.  I've lived in downtown Evv three different times, including currently since Oct. 2014.  It's as safe as any part of the Evansville area as long as you know where you are going and aren't out wandering the streets alone late night.  It's a much safer downtown now than it ever has been (again lived there '92-5, '98-99 and '14-present).  We have an IU medical school opening up downtown soon to add to the population, so it will only keep getting better.  I live less than a mile from the Ford Center and have walked to and from many times without issue.

What we really need is "Hook's Evansville SS preview", but places in or near downtown Eville to check out:

www.HayniesCorner.com (less than 1 mile away):  Evansville Brew House, Waltons (big place with decent food and also has prohibition style speakeasy Fidel's upstairs); Sauced (good italian); Dapper Pig (gastropub); Mo's House (bar with great cocktails).

Main Street: Comfort (great place opened in 2017 on 3rd and Main.  Back Stage (across from Ford Center) good bar cheap beer and should have live music Friday night (I know they do on Sat. night.  Zuki as mentioned already.  The Peephole is a great dive bar on 2nd and Main.  Cafe Arazu 5th and Main.  Bruburger mentioned already 3rd and Sycamore one block off Main St.

Other downtown:  Madelines on 2nd and Oak - good upscale food.

Franklin Street (about 1.5 miles away from Ford Center): GerstHaus mentioned already, but also Smittys Italian Steakhouse, Pistons (high octane bar), Franklin Street Tavern, Franklin Street Pizza, Sportsmans Billiards are all good.

Matty B: Tropicana opened their land based casino in October 2017.  It's MUCH nicer than the old boat.  Also, Cavanaughs is still on the boat side of the street and is run by Tropicana.  I has a great steak there a couple weeks ago.  Prices are at good streak house prices though.

It's okay to leave Warrick County BlueBolt and experience new things.

So the gun fire and increased crime rate is no problem... Got you... I realize you are the Ambassador of Tourism for Evansville, but some of us are life long residents of the area and have watched Evansville become Louisville more and more.    Is Evansville still a good place to live?  Compared to other locations yes... Is it as safe as it was five years ago?  No.    Don't believe me?   Check the local crime states, paying particular attention to the South East side of Evansville.

As for being a Country boy... I have lived in places you would never confused for country... And I returned to my home in Newburgh.   That's right, I am fourth generation Warrick County, and wouldn't live in Evansville if it was the last place a over water in the region.   If that causes you discomfort you will find me in the Don't Care section.

Makes me miss Roberts Stadium more and more every time a conversation of Ford Center comes up. Great location, great parking, bigger place for larger venues, better seating for space. Our elected officials had to have something with their name on it and line the pockets of their buddies, so Roberts Stadium took the hit.

So many great memories (and maybe many things I can't remember) of Roberts!   From the Circus as a kid to Ozzy, AC/DC. and Van Halen later in life...Seemed like the Obvious place to wrestle!

So I need a vest and pistol?  They don't throw hands it sounds like lol

There was a day you could walk down most any street in Evansville and if you got hasselled at all it was throwing hands and nothing more.   The good ole days...

It's getting worse and worse.  Good news is we built a stadium RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WORSE PART OF THE ENTIRE MESS...

Evansville is a FANTASTIC town - to live out side of.

Man first they closed the place that was in in the basement of the old bank, then fox and the hound, then cheeseburgers, now Hammerheads.... wow I’m stunned....

I also went to a bar one time in a mall, it was like in an old Dept store or something. Very eclectic.

K.C.'s Time Out .....That's the bar in the mall....It's still open!  lol

You may want to keep this website handy...some FUNNY STUFF at times.   Gotta love E'Ville

  8. What is very troubling is the number of gaps in the middle weights (138-160) for sake of comparison.   These are basically "walking around weights" for kids in high school.  Missing 234 opportunities in these classes seems more telling than not finding smaller or larger kids to fill the book end weights.   Let's face it,most schools have kids of average size (thus why its referred to as average) and fewer skinny kids...

I know for a fact many of the larger kids tend to be driven into the weight room for football off season, or that orange ball game they seem to like on the playground.
