I would also put my brother in law Cary house from Anderson Highland in there, he had a great career, and his tree is well represented.

Quit commenting on something you do not have a clue on.
If you are going to try and enforce this rule, there would be no comments on many of the topics.......

Mr.Total matches wrestled with something like a 93% pin rate.
The kid is a beast, and anyone who does not vote for him needs to have their voting rights removed for lack of having a functional brain.

Mr.Gorilla sounds like somebody that pins their way entirely through the whole season and tournament..Not to. Mention had under 40 minutes total time spent on the mat all season and under 10 minutes total at state among the state's best!
I wonder who you could be talking about.

Much better angle of the match but without the great commentary
Should be required viewing for all 285's. They left it all out there and actually wrestled. So different from the usual 1-0 matches that have no action.

There were a few tonight, which was the biggest upset, or did the biggest upset happen in a 3 over a 2?

this will be my 10th year working, and 15th year attending. My son says I do not work, I walk up and down the wall drinking water.

Just curious, is Dave already in the hall of fame for all his contributions to Indiana wrestling?
I do not know, but he should be.

I want someone who has not been mentioned yet, Dave Fleming. He was in my sons corner a few times, and he is an outstanding coach.

I worked the New Castle Semi-State.....Most of the coaches had good questions, which I probably changed 3 or 4 of my calls after consulting my assistant. We cant always see everything, so I love to have the extra set of eyes. Some officials dont want it unfortunately .
you were one of the situations I mentioned before. It happened on mat 3

I totally agree. I dont believe I seen 1 single referee change his call after getting together with the other ref at semi state. I saw at least 5 times the ref could had changed the call. I umpire baseball and the number 1 issue i have with young umpires and even some guys that have been doing it a long time is because they have too much pride. They don't wanna change a call because of pride. I have a rule that I always ask my partner if he is at least 80% sure he is right and I am wrong and I'm not 100% sure my call was the right call then I change the call. I have no pride in changing it because at the end of the day I want the call to be right so the kids are not cheated. Changing a call does not show weakness or make you look like a rookie.it it actually shows strength and makes you earn respect. Some refs have got to start taking charge and telling the other ref that a call needs to be changed. Maybe even have a replay challenge at the semi state and state. Its just bigger in wrestling then it is in most sports to get the call right because a match is only 6 minutes not 4 quarters.
I saw 3 times where the officials conferred and then changed the call. I do not think it happens enough, but it does happen. I was a trackwrestling scorer at new castle.

I think you are still misunderstanding Jayruss’s question. I believe he meant which SCHOOL (not which semi-state) had the most semi-State champions (who will be GOING to state). Based on that interpretation, Crown Point HIGH SCHOOL had the most with 5 semi-state champions.
Based on your interpretation though, I agree that I think the New Castle Semi-State will end up with the most state champions ... although I think it will be close between 3 of the semi-states.
I told you that I am just a dumb service tech. Let me work on your hvac and I shine. Anything else, is a big question. Thanks for the info.

I believe Jayruss meant who had the most semi-state champs (going to state). Agreed that there won’t be one school with 5 champions.
I think it will be New Castle, with maybe 6, and 5 from Merriville, with 3 from Evansville. But what do I know, I am just a service tech.

It would be tough to bet against Cathedral, and EMD, but I do not know the state like some of you do, so I will go with nobody has more than 2 champs from any one school.

If counted correctly, at the Ft. Wayne Semi-State there were 14 champions from 14 different schools and 34 different teams sending wrestlers to State.
Western 4 - 0 champs
Bellmont 3 - 1 champ
Garrett 3 - 1
Oak Hill 3 - 1
Carroll 3 - 0
Southern Wells? 3 - 0
Peru 2 - 1
New Haven? 2 - 1
Norwell? 2 - 1
None from Yorktown. How long has it been since they did not get any to state?

What are these bananas, are they good for Daiquiris? How do you earn them, and where do you spend them?

memory, and a fantastic way to honor your friend. You won simply by knowing the right thing to do, and you will go far in life with that attitude. Best wishes on what your future holds.

Just H2H, common opponents and winning percentage.... But the coaches are suppose to make sure we separate the top 2 wrestlers....
I thought that they just feed the info into track and let that seed the sectional. Which by the way should only seed the top 4.

I knew Neil and John both through wrestling, and professionally. They were both great guys, and will be sorely missed by those whose lives they touched. I can only offer my thoughts and prayers to all the families impacted by this.

Cannot say that I am glad about this, I was very happy to see Jim at Warren. I wish him well in his new position, it works well for him, his wife with her total involvement in ISWA, and at least one of his assistant coaches. Warren needs to find a tough no frills coach to come in take over where Jim left off and build the club and high school team to even higher heights. I would recommend 2 people that I think would be a good fit, but they are already with other schools, so I will refrain from naming names.

That locks it up, congrats to the Irish.

That was a heck of a match.

I do not know if it would help on the international scene, we seem to do decent, and the wrestlers who compete for the USA seem to get plenty of freestyle. I would however like to see some of the rules in folkstyle, the push out rule being top among them.
