  1. For real.... what is the big news, Rat?!
  2. Wow! Awesome addition to the staff in Alex! Let's go Region Wrestlers!
  3. I'll take option B except let's lose 220. If you can't cut down to 195 you are a heavyweight.
  4. Practices are on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 5:30 - 7:00 for 100 lbs and below and 7:00 - 8:30 for 100lbs and up. It's at Hanover Central High School in the wrestling room.
  5. Getting back to the subject of the post. Before anyone gets on here and starts spreading rumors about Hawkins..... He missed team state due to being ill with the shingles. He started having a break out shortly after individual state tourney. That's right rankings guy... he's sick again. I hear you can get shingles and not have outward symptoms for 6-8 weeks. Maybe that is why his immune system has been messed up this year.
  6. Let's keep it clean, D-train.
  7. I only care about finishing ahead of one person. A certain CP superfan rarely seen without a clipboard, folder full of stat sheets and newspaper clippings, and plenty of writing utensils... Dunefan... I beat you again... Without any stat sheets... better luck next year.
  8. No Dunefan... what are you some kind of chicken???? You know that I am going to smoke you again this year.
  9. The only chance is if he weighs in Dallas and Tsirtsis both at 130, then send Tsirtsis up to take out Guerra. Also weigh in Renn and Roach both at 145 and send Roach up to take out Stahl. Other than that, there's not much hope for CP to pull this one off and I doubt any of these moves will be made so who cares.
  10. Well Y2... let me explain it to you... the way the team tournament is set up in this state, you are at a big disadvantage anyways because you coach at a small school.... geez!
  11. You left out the Salas brothers (River Forest).
  12. Don't forget to chop 1 minute off of the match times and wrestle 5 minute matches in the wrestleback rounds... that way we can leave 14 minutes earlier and it carries the added bonus of putting the kids who have put in the time to make sure that their conditioning is good at a disadvantage... Seems like a good tradeoff to me.
  13. Andrew Howe just won the midlands! 3-1 in double OT against Reader from Iowa State. Winning takedown? A snatch single.... He won his semi match 6-6 in triple OT against Marable from Missouri on riding time criteria (25 seconds).
  14. No Midlands talk on here? Does anyone know if they have the brackets posted yet or not? I didn't see Angel in the pre-seeds. Come to think of it I don't remember seeing any IU kids in the pre-seeds... do they not compete their anymore?
  15. Does anyone know if Duckworth is really staying at 215? Also, what happened to that Drake Stein kid who ruined my Al Smith 152 bracket last year. He looked pretty good. I thought he was an underclassman last year (maybe he graduated... I don't know).
  16. Congratulations, Anthony and family! It's been a long time coming. All that hard work has started to pay off. I think that you made a great decision and you are going to wrestle for a great coach. I think that with you and the other guys that Leroy already has and will be able to get that CCSJ is going places in a hurry! Best of luck! Now go win another title and I will throw some bean bags at your head at your graduation party! HA!
  17. Like the respect that Metcalf showed for Lance Palmer in his post match interview after the semis. He said, "He was content to lose by 3 points." I am sure that Palmer was not content to lose and consider that very disrespectful to him.
  18. The one I found seemed like it was in reference to the times braggin rights meet that went on last weekend. I am looking for the lineup for the indiana illinois allstar dual team. Thanks though.
  19. Does anyone know where to find the Illinois roster for this event? I have yet to see it. I have checked illinoismatmen.com and still have not found it.
  20. By the way. I think that this topic was posted as a joke.
  21. What are you trying to say, Wildcat? Bill Hawkins and many other CP coaches and parents busted their asses to help get the kids to a point where they would be able to compete at a high level in high school. Most of the kids on this CP team came up the ranks learning how to wrestle through the CP lightning program while Bill was the main guy running it. All the hard work certainly paid off big time. From your comments, it seems like you just want to totally discount this fact because a couple of really good kids wanted to come and compete on the CP team too (and they did so following the rules set forth by the IHSAA). I am sure those kids, their club coaches and parents busted their asses too and wanted to compete for a successful program. I don't see how that takes away from the sense of tradition and community. Every team that gets on top is accused of this. I have been reading the indiana wrestling message board for years and it is always the same. MD, Mishawaka, Merrillville, Portage (in their hay day), etc. all get bashed every year because people want to call them cheaters. It's all just sour grapes because someone else is where you wish that your team would be.
  22. Hey Fabio, I was just wondering if you are still going to say that Howe is not one of the best wrestlers ever to come out of Indiana. Maybe a big 10 finals appearance as a true freshman at 165 is not impressive enough for you though.
  23. Any word on the official lineups for either team?
