  1. I only have a few questions about it. Is there any way we could move it later than the Dec dates? I don't think all teams have meshed and came together yet. Also is there any better way to find the teams participating? Using the rankings on here would not be the best route but I am not sure of how else to do it other than what system we are getting rid of. I know from 2004-2006 Columbia City was beat in the Team State semi finals, and never were we a top 10 team. I think the first year we went we were 13th, and hovered right around there for the next 2-3 years, even though we continued to advance to the semi finals at Team State. I think trying to get the tourney as late into the season as possible would be the best thing to do. I know there are some conference tourneys that run 2 weeks before sectional. If there was a way to get all of them to move to the week before sectional, then we could have this Team State 2 weeks before sectional. But we have to find a better way of deciding participants than just using the rankings.
  2. Scheduled for 6:30. Columbia City wrestlers and fans will be wearing blue ribbons for Coach Friedt as well.
  3. Reminder, this tourney is coming up this Sunday. $10, no cards or membership needed. No elimination! High Schoolers, if you havent wrestled yet, come get your first match jitters out of the way.

  5. It was repaired due to someone not checking the brackets to see when they wrestled and then finally figured out they were not on them. And to my knowledge the computer wouldnt let them just insert them into a previous bye?? Someone correct me if I am wrong here.
  6. Easy vote here, Karl Hung Us all if we dont vote for him, and Y2 will delete your vote if you go for the one person that does not want class wrestling here!
  7. No, I have applied tho. It is closed next thursday and the interview or picking process begins then. I was approved as an assistant coach, this was before the resignation of the head coach.
  8. Cameron you comin home to the Fort anytime soon? hahah I always told you that you should work there! Application period closes next thursday, just in time for 1st practice of the season.
  9. Jr/Sr (03&04)seasons wrestled 125 wrestled one year at IU (2006) at 125 and weigh about 135 on a fat day. hover around 132
  10. Football coaches now huh...Garrett received a fine football coach a few years ago that left a bigger school and even though he bounced around ended up at a smaller school. Columbia City(2 sectional runner ups in a row) to Central Noble to Dekalb to Garrett. WHy in the world would he go to Garrett? they are so small! He has had more success there than he has had in the last 10 years at CC. His Railroaders team would beat the Eagles easily.
  11. Does FW Carroll still have their Open tourney?
  12. This same questions goes to EMD. How many times in years past, not so much right now, but in years past did fans root against the HUGE school of EMD wrestlers at State? I remember plenty of matches where the crowd went nuts when a wrestler from there lost or was in a close match.
  13. Buddy Riggs wrestled Dustin Bruce of Bloomington North twice in the ticket round. Both were great matches, but Dustin pulled both of them out. They were at 125 adn 135 I believe. Speaking of Bloomington North, Joe Arthur is def. one to be mentioned on here as he was beat by a Jasper kid is sophomore year. Reitz his Jr year, and then CLark of Jeff. his senior year. His freshman year he broke his ankle/leg not sure which. Columbia City had a wrestler named Kris Cramer who never made it to the show. I believe his 3 losses at semi state were to SPrunger of Bluffton who won it that year, Birner of Peru?, and then Koons of Bellmont who he beat 1-0 a few weeks earlier. Jade McCammon would have to be one of the best to never make it.
  14. Y2CJ25098ADFOI234 use to be a shorter, fatter, uglier Ben Affleck. But i cannot see it anymore. I think he is starting look more like an old Mr. Wilson from Dennis the Menace.
  15. Every year there is a post about which song gets you pumped up or ready to go or something like that. Well the song that does it for me is none other than the National Anthem. It always sends the chills all over and I can feel the hairs on my neck and arms stand up. It works during wrestling meets, every racing event I attend, and just about every time I hear it. It is a song that I have heard numerous times while getting ready to wrestle and I do not think it will ever quit giving me goose bumps.
  16. You know, I want to post on this so bad. But however former coach of Columbia City, Randy Kearby had so many great ones I cannot post them all so I will just give you a glimpse of what he would say.... 1. You don't know beans from apple butter 2. You can take a flying bite out of a rolling donut 3. You're crazier than a hoot owl 4. You can con mom, can con dad, but you can't con the mirror on the wall 5. Integrity isn't what you're doing when everybody's watching, integrity is what you're doing at 3 o'clock on a Saturday night 6. Will you sit up please? This isn't Baywatch 7. Get in the "wheelbarrow" 8. I'm just as sure as God made little green apples 9. "Ka-nute" Rockne and a few more 1. (story story story) and I am not trying to tell you horror stories. Thats H-O-R-R-O-R stories not W-H-O-R-E stories. 2. How many Kyle Woods do we have on this team? (just 1 coach) We actually had 1 on the team 3. You need to be on him like white on rice. 4. Need to be on him like flies on potato salad. 5. When your hips hit the mat it needs to be like puttin your hand on a hot stove. 6. Cut the cord, CUT THE CORD 7. Wrestling goes move to move like a chain goes link to link. 8. This guy is a hot dog with mustard ketchup and everything else on it. 9. I k now Im not 36-24-36 but I need all eyes on me. and a few more 1) Just like Novocaine give it time and it works every time. 2) Just like Greyhound leave the driving to us. 3) You don't have to have the lead if you have the heart to come from behind. 4) You have to go out and wrestle like you have an atomic bomb in your jock. 5) (Whatever tirade he may be on he'd look at a another coachand ask) "am I wrong?" 6) (After giving someone a good chewing for not listening he'd finish with) "and it's not a power struggle!" (and pantomime pulling a tug-o'-war rope.) 7) The ever-famous "Randy Kearby 5 step program. 1)Win Conference 2) Win Sectionals 3) Win Team Regional 4) Win Team Semi-State 5) Place at Team State
  17. I have said this a few times and I am sure I will say this a few more times in the future...Brent Faurote is one of the classiest guys/role model/coach you will ever see.
  18. Does Rex Brewer still do it for them? He is an excellent announcer.
  19. I talked to him earlier this year, and I believe he said something about Louisville. Not sure if he is doing more school there or if he found a job there. He did not coach last year to continue with his grad school.
  20. Cameron Troxell stud? oh get out of town hahahahahaahaha sorry I had to, use to coach with him at Bloomington North.
  21. I picked Williams due to the injury he was coming off of and was able to win with it, JT Young would be my next one.
  22. Could there be an * put on the bottom of the criteria that it comes down to a coaches vote if needed?
