I think Sollars wins rather comfortably. Score may be close but I think Sollars controls it and is never really in danger. Something along the lines of 5-1
4-3 Purdy

It looks likely we will see #5 Purdy vs #1 Hall in the morning quarterfinals at 170. That is if Purdy gets past #8 Simpson. Purdy definitely didn’t get any help from the bracket-gods in getting to a decent placement.
Purdy will be in the mix, and will make his own luck!!

Steenbeke is my pick @ 160
That kid can pin ya from across the gym, returning state qualifier and he’s been in the big tooth chipper brackets nationally.
Hated to see him and Cruz on the same side of the bracket though.
That should be the finals IMO -

I'll take Fitts over Farmer at 152. They wrestled a tough match to open the season. Farmer won in SV as Fitts seeks to run out of gas. Fitts seems to have gas tank issues at times, but watching that match it seemed worse. Solve that Saturday and I think he solved Farmer. IMO, that's his biggest obstacle to a deep run the next 3 weeks.
I watched A Farmer wrestle at Sectionals. The young man is peaking at the right time. Both Farmer boys wrestled lights out!!!!

Uncle Jimmy, my favorite person. Man miss having you around. ECC just released ticket link for 1500 tix first come first serve. Going to make a lot of unhappy parents when they are not able to check their email while at work. Save tix for parents of the wrestlers. Wrong approach by ECC!!!!! I think I will buy as many as I can and sell them on Indianamat for Joes bananas!
ECC??

Two tickets for parents!!!!
2 tickets per wrestler should be up to par for County guidelines.
Big thanks to the IHSAA/ Coaches & AD’s who have fought for not taking sports away from our kids.

Let’s quit the faux-fear here. By the time everyone gets to Bankers Life, no one will know who has it, who has been vaccinated, who doesn’t give a sheet, and who can plow through a possible symptom to win a title. If you are 60 or older, don’t come if you are a fan, coach, or ref. Or, if you do, get a vaccine in the next 4.5 weeks. Otherwise, get the kids in the arena w parents or immediate family, and have a tournament.
Football had 75 kids in the locker rooms together 6 different times (or a few less for 1A-3A). They spaced the loved ones perfectly with assigned seats, but no way they sterilized the locker rooms and no one cared.
The pandemic is about over. IHSAA shouldn’t pump the brakes now and the wrestling community sure as heck shouldn’t give them pause. We are the best sport after all. Let’s get everyone in the arena and make moves. We are setting the bar for this fractured country. Let’s keep charging.
^^^WHAT THIS GUY SAID!!! 1,000%
Hat’s off to IHSAA and all the coaches/AD’s for a job well done!!!
Crazy year....but let’s get on with it!!

Purdy is not a “Boonville product” don’t flatter yourself!!!
Bottom line is when most kids are laying up in the summer, these guys are wrestling!!!
There’s the “difference”, there is no “product”!!!When you get on here bud speak “FACTS” not BS

Not sure calling out for HIM will help you out of this debacle now. Maybe should’ve Prayed first. Just a suggestion.
I call it how I see it, I’m sorry if that “offends” you!
I don’t have a dog in the fight, Burrell had him stuck, and that’s what I saw. Period!!!Burrell is not my kid, and no I don’t live in Newburgh!!!
Bunch of Computer tough guys on here. Ha
If you can read the 2nd post on this thread you will see my original post!!!
Not too far off!!!
This is HS wrestling, no one is signing a LOI today....calm down!!
Side note: I won’t be needing Jesus’ help in this deal, I assure you of that!!
Have a good day fellas, learn the sport for us all please!!!

I mean, did you watch your HUDL? Let’s trade video, I’ll watch your film. Clearly yours has some photoshop technique? I’ll let the big man know you need some readers, assuming you need them pops. I happened to see him this morning- looks like your coach made the “naughty” list. What was up with him & the Tecumseh coach screaming at each other? Reminded me of the ever popular American Chopper meme going around... “You can’t tell me what to do!” “Yes I can!” “No you can’t!” Looked classy the say the least. Maybe why you can’t fill a full team? I don’t know, I’m sure the big man AKA St. Nick does though. I’ll let him know you need some extra cookies this year since you’re being a keyboard warrior lying to make your kid look better than what he is. Oh- and that you’re in denial for needing an eye exam, getting older is rough.
Slow down and pump the brakes, Jesus!!!
-
And I’m positive they have a few optometrists in Santa Claus Sleigh Christmas town, take advantage.
Cool down bud.
If you were sitting on the South side, rather than the North side of the gym (prob eating leftover Christmas cookies and singing carols) you would’ve seen it.
When you’re writing out that Christmas list later this year up there in “Tinsel Town“, ask for some glasses.
Calm down, deep breath!! -

The team race was a close thrill ride!
The team race was tight.
All in all 5 Champs for Castle!!Schwindel- like I said you can’t count him out. He pins in the finals!!
Ramsey never got a chance to see Dollison!!
Burrell had Rodgers pinned for a good while...FLAT with no call. (A lot of those today sadly)Nobody scored on W. Stewart today, not even in the finals!!
Reff with an 8-2 lead, pins B. Moore in the 2nd!!
Harrison’s Garrett...kid isn’t your normal heavyweight!!!
I figured the team score would be a 20+ point gapIt was 11.5
Every team wrestled well.

In order to become a good wrestler you have to wrestle good comp. Wrestling soft teams and wrestlers does not make a wrestler or team better. Hard comp and hard training is key to success. TO BE THE BEST YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST. PRACTICING WITH YOUR SISTER WILL NOT HELP GET IT. NUFF SAID.
Nope!! My man said “confidence and technique” that’s all. Just those 2 things!!! All these years I’ve been told wrong.
-
The team score will not be close this time.
132 Heeke & Baughn145 You can’t count Schwindel out.
152 Ramsey has beat Dollison 2x195 Rodgers and Burrel
220 Stewart will coast through even with Palmarchuk and Farmer wrestling well.
It won’t be close for whoever is in the finals w Stewart. If he puts on together a good weekend at the Bank he’ll be a 220 State placer!!285 Garrett and Combs will go again this weekend. Garrett is athletic for a big kid, and strong as a bull.
Records don’t mean a thing starting Saturday...what does matter is strength of schedule at that point.
If you have a 34-1 record, but haven’t wrestled anyone then that record is worth the paper it’s printed on.
Just my 2 cents. -
28-1
Loss was to Dickens by pin.
Also I’d say look at the scores on Deters’ matches last year to this year...I’d say he (Deters) has a great partner in Purdy!!23 of those wins are falls as well.
Just my 2 cents- Mattyb and backtothemat

MattyB , that is an excellent choice. If the 160 Class in the EVSS moves around IMO Sego can win 160 at the BHSS Regional
and have a Potentially better path than 170. Purdy-Castle going 152? Buchanan-C.G.182 open for him at MVSS. Thoughts
Purdy is at 160

John Purdy is at 160

I like to get the hall rolling on different subjects. Here’s my top 5 freshman list, interested in seeing others opinions..
1. Sam Goin (Crown Point)
2. Christian Carroll (Penn)
3. Logan Frazier (Crown Point)
4. Aiden Torres (Chesterton)
5. Cody Goodwin (Crown Point)
Not hearing abt too many freshman from the south other than Schoff.
Well ok then!! Ha ha
