  1. I read an article that said they never petitioned to wrestle the men's division. Seems a bit weird if he was denied.
  2. Well for once I'm gonna agree with Y2 on something. Which half the time I don't and just keep my mouth shut lol. The benefits of having class wrestling would be more kids and schools would get involved in the state tournament for their respective class. A class 1 average kid could have the chance to actually make it to state. Is it making our sport better? Possibly by attracting more kids into a program that have success, again in their respective class, would open up more people's eye seeing their hometown school taking so many to a state tournament. A lot of sports in Indiana are divided into class. now can some 1a class schools compete with the 3a? Yes but it's opening up a greater horizon for more kids to join smaller schools and have more of a chance at success. Programs like brownsburg, portage, EMD, are at the top because they always find success in their programs and attract more kids then the normal. That's just my opinion, prolly get drilled for it.
  3. Not sure if this was given yet, but can we get a break down of how many schools are in each class that have a wrestling program?
  4. lol I didn't talk to him, just from one of my guys who he wrestled first. Only one to go the distance with him! It's the small things lol
  5. Think you would've been within 5 points of portage in a dual?
  6. Yep, had an official argue that it wasn't a move for our kid that hit it. It's control. But hey some refs see back points, others don't.
  7. B. Lee makes takedowns look to easy even against great defensive wrestlers.
  8. I'll take Garcia and viduya, also Joe Lee over b lee
  9. Someone asked who was the most electrifying earlier this week. My new vote is Samuels and Clark! Wow this place is rocking!!
  10. MCWC has some studs being produced out of their academy, I was really impressed by their 132lber and their 110lber. Can't think of the names but both will be going to mater dei next year.
  11. Well, I still have no idea what da ole rat says but I guess I'll agree with him lol
  12. It's a judgmental call, one may see it one way and the other sees it differently. And as you saw Saturday there was absolutely no consistency on any call.
  13. Topic is "who you got" right, no one famous?
  14. 106- Curtis 113- it's really hard to go against Asa, I like the kids style 120- I wanna be a homer and say poynter, but this is a four man battle with him, mills, rooks, and triana. Hard to choose but I'll stick with my home run guy poynter. 126- de la Pena is just wrestling lights out lately. I think him and rooks in the finals 132- I'm gonna go with reitz, to bad what most of us think the finals match of him and bailey will be maybe in the semis. From what I've seen on the message board combest is also wrestling lights out lately. I think it'll be combest vs reitz in the finals 138- the top half of this bracket is brutal! I feel black walks to the finals, smiling like he normally does, but I think the winner comes from the top and I'll go with the athletic Rumph. 145- can Kasper unseat the mighty Brayton Lee in a possible quarters match? 152- Joe Lee. Although I don't think as easy as people think. 160- Lemley, I love this kids style of wrestling and mat awareness 170- hardest weight to pick. Can fattore not get gassed? It's wide open here but I'll go with Van Horn 182- another possible finals match happens in the semis and I'll go with Lucas Davison 195- I think Andrew Davison finally get through past troubles and wins this tough weight class 220- Parris. Nothing is easy in this sport but he rolls. 285- wade and Ellis on one side while I think McWilliams is waiting for the winner of those two. Streck is my dark horse here as well. McWilliams is my winner at the heavyweight. And all you people better stay and watch this finals! Lol
  15. Regionrumbler, I just read that under the NFHS rules a slam can be called if the ref feels inexcessive force was used on the return. Also it does not matter if the returners knee hit before the opponent hits the mat, it can still be called a slam if again the ref feels incessive force was used. My reading skills are on par I guess you can say since I found this. My apologies for saying safety wasn't a concern to you, and this sucks for both guys involved.
