I think the pro-132 last argument also supports your "not at the expense of another wrestlers big stage opportunity" argument in that if there are more people in the stands for the heavyweights because the 132 match is last then the heavyweights, by definition, have a bigger stage opportunity than they have otherwise. The point being that under the current set up their big stage opportunity is not as big as it could be because they are last and the crowd thins out. Right, wrong or indifferent, that is just the reality. Ensuring the crowd is not thinned for their match helps, not hurts, them. -
Amen. This is about Chad Red. Bringing Nick Lee into the article would have required way too much technical explanation. This was about 179-0 and getting more eyes on wrestling. If Nick Lee pulls off the upset, then they have a second article to write that is set up by this article. If Chad Red wins the second article is confirmation of the first. Seems like basic storytelling to me.

Exactly. Who cares if you were right or wrong (besides, what are the odds of actually being right?). You did the work, you put out some thoughts, and we all got enjoyment from either agreeing or disagreeing with them. It seems that panning someones picks after the fact is counter productive at best. From someone, who doesn't know enough to make picks, please keep making picks. I enjoy the reading material.

thank you. Tough draws: 152 has 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 all on the same side 145 and 170 have 1, 2, 3, on same side 285 has 1, 2, 4 on the same side But you all got your wish. Lee v Red can only happen under the lights.

I counted the predictions on this thread. Four have Lee winning and six have Red winning. So what exactly is your complaint? That it isn't 100% Red? People predict upsets all the time. And they happen with some frequency. That's not disrespect. It's experience.

Sorry about the late addition, but it has been a busy day at work. Not pumped to see it? I could wet my pants I'm so excited. As for re-arranging, I think there is a strong pro argument that it actually respects the other wrestlers too. You can only come to that conclusion if you acknowledge the reality that the late matches are more poorly attended. By putting the marquee match-up last you have a consistent crowd throughout the night. You force the fans to see the other matches which will invariable feature some amazing moments that they may miss otherwise. In that way you can make fans of partisans. If, however, you want to believe that the late wrestlers only having their core constituency around is more respectful, then you arrive at the conclusion that re-arranging is disrespectful. It is true that there is a great deal of subjectivity in the decision process, particularly if you have a year where there could be equally strong arguments for which match should be most marquee. But, on balance I still think it has merits.

I am a huge Lee fan and even I find this argument to be the purest of speculation based on what you want to believe. There is no way you can know any of what you claim to know. Pulling for one wrestler does not mean you have to put down another wrestler or minimize his achievements.
