    Congratulations Gunnar (and Mr. and Mrs. Larson) on your commitment to West Point!  In watching you interact with the WP wrestlers on your official visit, you fit right in with this group of guys.  They live by the motto...  "Duty, Honor, Country!"  WP is a great fit for you Gunnar.  You have a strong moral compass and a strong desire to work hard both physically and academically.  Go Army!

    On July 7 the University of Indianapolis released a statement that the Great Lakes Valley Conference will sponsor wrestling as it's 21st official conference sport for the 2016-2017 season. This includes a conference tournament. The vote was taken after Drury University announced in Nov. 2015 it was adding wrestling giving the conference the minimum 6 teams required to sponsor a sport. Since then Bellarmine University has announced it will also field a time for the upcoming season (absorbing the St. Catharine College NAIA program).

    Larson from Avon went 13-0, Conley 12-1, Brewer 11-1, Garcia 11-2, Williamson (Zville) 11-2, Clark 10-3. Those were the best records for Avon. They were 8-5 in Dual Meets. Drew Williamson from Zionsville replaced Caden Hubner who was at Football Camp. The rest of the kids were Avon kids. Rioux 106 and Henson 285 were not released from Dr. to wrestle yet. They did not make the trip.
