  1. From a newbie standpoint, greatest topic ever! A lot of history and banter. Fun stuff........
  2. Maurer vs. Hughes. I love the discussion. What legacies these guys left!
  3. Good point. My reply would be that he didn't wrestle the HS season so he can compare his current skills against those peers who qualified for State. I think he will be a State contender in 2019 and I bet he does not lose in this tournament to any wrestler that did not make the ticket round this season.
  4. Mine was my first: 2014. Nick Lee vs Stefan/Stevan Micic. Wow is all I can say.
  5. I think Mason has better potential in college, only because of his athletic nature and the lack of that in the HWT class.
  6. My son was lucky (or unlucky) enough to wrestle Jordan Friday night at State in 2016. I thought he had a really good shot at beating Jordan and I was right. He may be the only wrestler to outscore Jordan two takedowns to none in a high school match and still lose. I knew then Jordan was a special wrestler and he proved it to the rest of the State of Indiana this year. One surreal moment I had last weekend was watching him congratulate a wrestler from another school who had just won his Saturday morning match, all the while Jordan was on deck for his match against Kasper McCintosh! My son Baxter wants a rematch Jordan! But from the Jordan from Friday night in 2016; NOT the Jordan from last Friday. You truly climbed to the top of a very steep mountain this year and I look forward to watching you next year!
  7. I wasn't there Friday night, but I have a feeling I'll get another opportunity in the next two years!
  8. I'll raise you one and say % of margin is more important that pt differential, which makes Delta's margin that much more impressive!
  9. So the next question is how did Brayton fair in the match against the kid that beat Joe?
  10. Rugby?! I gotta hear more about that. How many teams play rugby?
  11. Moran possible, but would have to beat Curtis. South no way. Look at the 2017 vs. 2018 post. Too many buzz saws in his way. And I am a fan of South.
  12. Here is why I like it: A kid like Alec Freeman is gonna dominate many Fr/So's that wrestled varsity all year and even just qualifies for Friday night at Banker's Life. He couldn't even make his varsity lineup (Cole Ross got in the way).
  13. What are they doing over the off season and even a "Where are they now?" re: former IN HS studs?
  14. The 138 Semifinals (Melloh vs. Mulkey and Rumph vs. Combest) were equally impressive in my book!
  15. Great topic MD92. These two deserve the award. This year only those two are in contention. Have we had similar circumstances in the past?
  16. There is a video on this thread as well.
  17. Go to www.ihsaatv.org. Then click on “On Demand” and you can watch all four hours including intros.
  18. Here’s my take: Zack Fattore will peak in 20-30 years as a Capt of Industry. He’s a brilliant young man who will be crazy successful. Period. I’m a huge fan before and especially now.
  19. He could easily go 138. Of course that was a tougher weight to get through Evv SS this year.
